This is silly.

Knowledgable football do not paint with broad brushes, (as in "Conference xxxxx sucks!"). And besides:

National Championships (outright or shared) since 1990:
ACC schools: 5 (Georgia Tech, Miami-2, Florida State-2)
Big 12 schools: 2 (Texas, Oklahoma)

Cry_hoopie is jealous. It must be tough being the only eastern member of the Great Plains Football Association. No rivals, and no team remotely close enough to become a rival. Maybe Hoopie can stand out on 79, and wave at the Pitt bus, on it's way to Blacksburg.

Channeling your bitterness to say that others are bitter doesn't change reality.

The ACC is content and stable. In recent history, the Big 12 has not been.

You can't change that.

You were hoping that the Big 12 would try to change that, and maybe things will change, but as it stands, it appears that you are the one denying anything remotely present.

I'd rather be in a far flung good football conference than a mediocre one that is regional. It is a matter of preferences.

Big 12 was unstable but now it is stable.

Acc was stable but now it is unstable.

The big 12 is respected in football while the acc isn't..

I see why this makes you bitter

The whole acc has 3 bcs bowl wins. Wvu alone had 3. So wvu has more bcs trophies than the whole acc.

Acc has no bcs national championship wins. Acc has not been to a bcs national championship since 2000

Checkmate.

Miami was a member of the Big East when they won their championships or at least one of them. As soon as they joined the ACC they became a mediocre football program.

This has got to be the longest lived thread I've ever started. :-)

Just think if WVU wasn't rejected by the ACC, we'd be seeing 30 pages of postings of how the ACC is now the premier college football conference with all others being doomed to perpetual non relevant status

exactly. and WVU preferred the ACC. and SEC. but were rejected by both, and settled for the b12.

“Multiple Big East sources said they have been told by WVU officials that WVU rejected by ACC & SEC”

Wvu preferred the sec and the big 12 was not an option. After they agreed to take us we jumped right in. Wvu would rather play in a good football conference then an unstable 2nd rate conference like the acc. Not only do we get better football but we get millions more in revenue. Thank god we are not in the acc. Had we accepted before the big 12 offer we would have been stuck like Pitt.

We value football at wvu.
