bush said 'you're either with us, or with the terrorists.'
hillary is the one who voiced the 'with us/against us' line that upset the euro poster i was responding to.
Really those who don't like U.S citizens don't know any on a personal level. I work with people every day from many different cultures; Russian, Philippinos, India. They have a very good opinion of us.
The ones that don't like us are usually miserable with themselves and resent tourists especially wealthy ones.

Reading some of these comments, one gets the idea that we Yanks are urinating in the Roman Forum, spraying graffiti on the Acropolis, and vomiting off the Eiffel Tower.
Good grief! Most Americans are quite enamored with Europe and delight in visiting there.

i agree. i work daily with folks from bulgaria, hungary, china, india, UK, cameroon, etc. etc., and they have a uniformly good opinion of Americans, if not US foreign policy.
according to that list, Americans are ranked ninth best - behind sweden but ahead of denmark.
I find myself hoping (unfortunately, usually against hope) that the loud, clueless traveler won't be from the US. It was almost unbearable when I lived in Okinawa. Nice quiet sushi bar, in come a group of US people with screaming kids and no one taking care of them... in SE Asia, US kids climbing on monuments...
I'm probably more sensitive because I'm from the US, but it disgusts me that many US citizens act like animals when in other countries.
Oh please! Like this sort of thing never happens in the US with foreign visitors. Give me a break. No country is exempt from having idiots and nobody can tell which country has the most. Give it up.
When was the last time the united states had a decent president that was comcerned about the people & didnt give in to low lives like wallstreet & the oil companies ?
