ahhh your a sheeple

Where did the word 'marijuana' come from? In the mid 1930s, the M-word was created to tarnish the good image and phenomenal history of the hemp plant.

And are there any liberals alive today who think that our current marijuana policy is right? God.

Let me clarify my comment about Amsterdam: It is the most liberal city in the WESTERN world.

Happy? No need to bring Thailand into it, but if you must know they actually kill you for drug crimes, so I don't see how that is more liberal than Amsterdam.

Oh BULL! The word entered English usage in the late 19th century and was used in Mexican/Spanish culture before that..

It's common usage to call industrial hemp hemp and smoking hemp marijuana.

Perhaps you should STOP making things up before you go accusing someone else of being a sheeple. Because we all know what the word for those who make things up and post them as fact are, eh?

Not many, and now they have a growing number of socially liberal libertarians on their side. As a matter of fact if the pro-drug crowd wants to succeed, their best change is to get libs in control of the house in 2014, and then it could happen before Obama leaves in Jan 2015. The admin is already changing the sentencing guidelines.

U.S. Orders More Steps to Curb Stiff Drug Sentences

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration on Thursday expanded its effort to
curtail severe penalties for low-level federal drug offenses, ordering
prosecutors to refile charges against defendants in pending cases and strip out
any references to specific quantities of illicit substances that would trigger
mandatory minimum sentencing laws

The move, announced by Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. at a speech before
the annual
conference
of the Congressional Black Caucus, builds on a major policy change he unveiled last month to avoid
mandatory minimum sentencing laws in future low-level cases.

Now now you guys.... I think we all agree that it's senseless to continue prohibition of this beneficial plant, regardless of what you use it for. At least the 3 of us do. It's not often that we get people on both sides of the political spectrum on this forum to agree on something.

By what standard? Just because you can smoke a little weed?

I think you're creating a moving target. First you talk about the 'civilized' world and now it's the Western world.

Not only that. It is a bastion of liberalism in every way I can think of, and they are proud of it. It is known as the most liberal city in the world, I didn't make it up. Google it if you must. Some even call it the birth place of liberalism. Conservative Americans would probably puke if they went there: legalized drugs, legalized prostitution, sex shows everywhere, junkie parks with clean needles, street artists, cradle to grave nanny state government, lenient laws, open borders, gays, transvestites, drag queens..... everything a socially liberal person wants.

So is it the STREET ARTISTS that really put the conservatives in a snit?
