Drugs (not just pot) affect the society as whole because many users finance their habit through crime, and many non-users are their victims. Down here in South Florida we have many neighborhoods which have been destroyed by drugs. Liberals have found the backdoor to liberalize republican voters, and that backdoor is the libertarian movement who support many socially liberal views such as gay marriage and drug use.
The need to finance a drug habit through crime is the RESULT of drugs being illegal.

Read the side effects of many prescription drugs or do a search for "Ambien deaths" if you really want to see documentation of substances that alter/impair you. Personally, I'd much prefer a toke and a glass of wine to get a good night's sleep than most of the junk BigPharma would try to sell me for the same purpose.
I hear ya! Though, for me it's a glass of beer. Not much on booze, other than beer.
It is what it is, conservatives want to lock you up, and liberals want to treat you. Look at Europe. You think they are decriminalizing drugs because they are so conservative? I wasn't born yesterday, my friend. It was conservatives who took ramped up war on drugs. I live in Miami, so I know a thing or two about how it escalated in the 1980s
oh please
its the liberals that want to ignore you
the conservatives dont want to lock you up, they want you treated
i had a difficult time finding any information on Ted Cruz's stance about this issue.. but per the houston chronicle, Ted Cruz doesn't support the legalization of cannabis.
But he is a constitutionalist. Constitutionalists are libertarians.
Which means "Freedom and Liberty" and "equal protection under the law".
BTW....did you learn any civics lessons while reading Ted Cruz?
From what I've been told by a few Navy vets there are places in the Philippines and Thailand to name two that would make Amsterdam look positively monastic in comparison.
