You go to the doctor you need an I.D. card.
You go to the bank, you need an I.D. card.
You go to a casino, you need an I.D. card.
To buy alcohol you need an ID card.
To buy cigarettes you need an ID card.
This is in Pa. Nobody and I mean NOBODY really believes that its a major hardship to get an ID card. My mother is over 80 and has one and she has never driven a car. Every four years she goes to the DMV and has her picture taken. They can say its discriminatory but that's BS and everyone knows it.
You want to talk about real voter discrimination, how about having somebody's vote taken away by electronic ballot tampering or having votes cast by people who never show up at the polls.

Do be sure to explain that to every college in Pennsylvania. I'd love to hear how they respond to your casual demand that they change everything they do with IDs.

I'll wait.

Except that doesn't happen other than, statistically, once in a blue moon.

Other than that, great argument.

So you want the states to require everyone to have an ID but not the feds, it is the same thing and a Federal photo ID would make it much harder for people to fraudulently vote in multiple states or are you not concerned about that kind of fraud?

In each of those cases mentioned a business transaction between 2 people are being performed with a third party being involved.

The right to vote occurs between 2 parties, the individual and the gov't (constitution). One party has decided that it wants to make voting between the the individual and Gov't harder

Sorry but the ID puts a face with the name and more importantly because of the facial recognition there is only one ID per face.

Which showing an ID doesn't actually prevent voter fraud, it just makes you feel like it does.
What are you going to do, drag a cadaver to the voting booth?

They don't have to but of course their students will not be able to vote with the ID issued by that college. You're really nitpicking here, your complaining college ID's are not allowed and now it's they need an expiration date. You can't get in a bar with expired ID in many states, why would expect to vote with one?

I WANT the Constitution followed. Voting is a STATE responsibility, NOT the FEDS. I am NOT one of those that wants to expand federal intrusion into states rights.

Having a STATE picture ID has nothing to do with voting in another state. To vote in ANOTHER state you have to provide a VOTER ID card for THAT state.

Nothing is perfect. "crooks" will always find ways to do what they want to do.

If EVERYBODY followed the laws, we would have NO need for cops, lawyers and the judicial system.

It might surprise you but, I AM in favor of fed drivers license. but, only for those that need one.

I know people who "live" in their RV and own NO property in ANY state and are NOT a real resident of ANY state. But, the have to "cheat' the system and "claim" a home address and get a state drivers license, usually from a state the may never be in or are in rarely.

So how do they do face recognition when offering you a photo ID if you have no photo to prove who you are? The person at the DMV doesn't know what I look like, anyone could take my documents in and get a false photo ID.

So if i had photo IDs in three different states, you wouldn't care if I voted in all three because "nothing is perfect?"
