I"m a bengals fan. Been one since the day I was born. Fortunately for me I've learned to not care whether or not the Bengals win or lose, because if I did, I would have offed myself a long time ago.

You love a team who you do not even know personally? Huh? I'm confused.

I know my football team very well. They're just a terribly ran franchise, though, that I'm not very upset if they win or lose on Sunday.

Fixed that for ya.

OP, you need to get over yourself.

I'd rather be with a weird sports fan than a weird artsy guy who spends his time looking down on the hobbies of others.

In this case, it is. I have a high ratio of high-quality posts to average-/low-quality posts, and enough people agree that I earn lots of reputation points because of it.

So you're glad that your social skills are deficient just like the guy who dominates conversations with rote football statistics? At least sports are a hobby. Condescension is not.

Watching football, basketball, etc gives some people a reason for living.

OP like others have stated get over yourself, you may not like sports fans, or get it, but thats ok, but whats not OK is looking down on us, and deciding we are idiots for being hardcore sports fans, and basically coming across as having a superiority complex.

I'm so glad I don't know you. You would probably yell at me at work if I made a wrong "play".

Me yelling at the TV, so what? I do it in my own home. If they make a bad play or can't play basic hockey, I will get vocal about it. I don't SCREAM at the top of my lungs but I will voice my discontent. If they make a great play I'll give a "whoo hooo".

I don't watch EVERY hockey game on TV and I don't yell at the TV constantly...only when I'm getting into the game.

I also watch the news and express my discontent verbally.

Why does it bother you so much what people do in their own homes? And I'm sorry but you cannot generalize a person based on one activity in their lives. I am a pretty well-rounded person, sports is just one aspect of it. I suspect that is true for a good majority of sports fans.
