I agree the war on drugs should be stopped by legalizing a lot of drugs. The government is throwing money away, and making the problem much, much worse.


Prostitution though, I don't know. Go to Asia Pacific, where it basically is legal. The guys there are totally ignorant about women, and pretty lame in general. By having prostitution available, the guys become sleazy instead of cool. I now assume that by competing openly for women, guys are forced to become cooler. If guys can pay for services, then the guy ends up working for $$, has absolutely no social skills or hygiene, and then buys jollies from girls. If you look at most of society, there is a lot of good stuff going on (gyms, hygiene, capitalism, ...), and a lot of that is because guys are trying to compete for women. What makes it unbalanced is the bad advice that guys get about how to meet women or start relationships with women, and that makes the market incredibly unbalanced. Prostitution is a bad way to balance the sex market. A better way to balance the sex market is to have all guys be able to meet (and reject) women. Guess what would happen? The cost of getting a date would go drastically down. Rather than girls fronting that a guy has to buy a $100 dinner and $200 wine, the guys will only pay for coffee. Rather than girls fronting that a guy has to "wait" a bunch until getting into bed with her, the guys will only wait 2-3 dates max for sex and dump the girl if she disagrees. If everyone were like this, then the reason for prostitution ("save time, pay $$$, easier to get laid with a prostitute than a normal girl met at the mall") goes away. It becomes easier to meet a normal girl & get to sex.

There's some web site out there, that compares the cost. Like, "Cost of sex from the girlfriend = dinner + dates + time spent on dates * $/hour + jewelry + ..." and then says: "Prostitute = $100/hr". If the total cost of getting a normal girl is lower??? That's the way to win.

a former co-worker of mine got a 6 month contract job in japan as a programmer. he told me that they were making up to $15k a night. the clients were women, but i suspect some probably have men as clients too.
