I pretty much ignore almost all popular music of the last 25 years, there are younger artists that I enjoy but they are typically in more traditional styles. In the same vein I'm listening more & more to older music of "my time" after ignoring most of it until my late 60's.
.
You know, I honestly can't think of a single band or singer after sometime in the 1980's. No doubt some of the names might be familiar but I couldn't dial up their songs in my head.
OTOH, I pretty much just listen to Art Pepper, Lee Morgan, Cannonball Adderley, etc, and early 1970's big bands. I'm starting to appreciate (after all these years) the craft in 1960s-1970s pop music though.
I started that 35 years ago. Recently it's become much more interesting, puzzling and surprising. As an ol' lady I'll keep on it till I'm REALLY old! lol

I've been doing this for almost 15 years. Will have to go back and check
I'm one of the youngest members of my large family
I think it is strange that some people could care less about their roots
I refuse to eat sushi and other popular weird foods. I still make and eat alot of foods from my 1950's childhood -- meatloaf and mashed potatoes, pork chops, pot roast, chili and rice, plain baked chicken and grilled cheese and tomato soup. Sometimes I go to bed at 8:30 pm and wake at 4:30 am. I put on my pajamas around 5 pm. I wash out large zip lock baggies and turn off all the lights -- just like my dad always did. I buy paperback books at the thrift shop and refuse to pay more that 50 cents each. I bring home half of every restaurant meal -- they are huge and I no longer can eat as much as my younger days. I drive very carefully and always do the speed limit. We only run the dishwasher about twice a week. I ALWAYS walk very slowly on the stairs for fear of falling and breaking my hip.
Finally -- I play soft classic rock and old country music songs while cooking and dance like it was 1970. I still have some pretty great moves.
I complain bitterly about the misuse of apostrophes. Especially when I see pizza's and pasta's! My family do not allow me to discuss apostrophes when we are in Queensland as it is a lovely state with a grammar problem.
I realise that my own kids are getting towards middle age and that I need to say that I am childminding the grandkids rather than babysitting them.

The other day I realized that I am now the oldest living relative on both sides of my family. I had one cousin ten years older and he died earlier this year. All the parents, grandparents, etc. are gone so now it's all cousins left. And a couple of siblings.
I really thought I didn't have much more to do as far as finding ancestors and have both sides waaay back but THEN I found out my dad wasn't really my dad so have a whole new thing to work on. One thing about genealogy...it never ends. And you never know what surprises you might find.
Saw this on Reddit and thought it would be great on this board , what old person things do you do?
I like to watch 1960s movies rather than current movies
At 66, nothing.....wife likes the ancient radio shows on Sirius, but they were before her time anyway......
Oh, I'm light on the gas....but that's been true for many decades.
