*crickets*

Better yet, which SF and LA neighborhoods are a better value for middle class families than Laurel, Maxwell Park or Upper Dimond???

Please enlighten us with the super long list of LA and SF neighborhoods that exonorate you from looking like hypocrites holding Oakland to an impossible double standard.
this is a valid point
where in san francisco (a mere 8 miles) away can you find a safe affordable walkable urban neighborhood ?

Exactly, and the article would be pasted, and quoted every 2-3 post for good measure.

Affordable to who? S.F is not a middle-class friendly city. It hasn't been since the 80s/90s. Anyone who has lived in the Bay Area knows this.

Great schools+very low crime+middle class+very affordable

These are their constant knocks against Oakland areas considered middle class.

Well now here's their chance to present to us the names of neighborhoods in the urban core of SF and LA that meet ALL of those criteria.

i am dismissing this piece for 2 reasons.
a) he would not name what neighborhood he lives in and the definition of middle class is so subjective i cannot determine if he is legitamite or overly anxious.

b) he has an obvious political agenda specifically to have the city hire david kennedy as a consultant as opposed to william bratton.

I think most of us would be happy with great schools, and low crime in the "urban core". Doesn't exist in Oakland.
