I don't have the data from the 80s and 90s, but shootings are way down since the early 00s. I'm talking about cut in half some years, and down by about a 1000 even last year, a year in which the city saw homicides rise.

18 Homicides, 52 people shot first 9 days of February in Chicago which almost more last February 2015 compare to 4 killed in NYC this February so far.

Exactly. It's not that it is any less dangerous in Chicago now than the 90's. It is just that urgent care has advanced dramatically in the last 25 years.

Houston and NOLA where gunz ar everywhere are very safe while NYC where gunz are virtually banned is very dangerous with murders on every corners
