St.Louis picked up another award, this time for the most violent city in the country. Sooner or later our Mayor is going to have to fork over some money to the feds to keep our city off that list.

The Chicago PD is doing like Baltimore and only doing the bare minimum.

It's a union strong arm tactic. When the media, public, and politicians no longer blindly support them they only bounce around from 911 call to 911 call. They do absolutely nothing proactive.

You can see more about the Chicago PD mentality here:

Second City Cop

And mind you, that is the "tame" Chicago PD blog. There was another Chicago PD blog that was filled with racist vitriol that rivaled a KKK blog. It was subsequently shut down when Chicago PD top brass were able to identify the website owner. Likely a result of the officer doing stuff on the work computer. Just repeating the websites vulgar name is grounds for a city-data TOS violation tho.

It's also fifteenth in the entire world, on level with many Brazilian and Mexican cities

No National Guard is needed in Chicago, When Chicago was having 900+ murders is when it was needed. 400-500 homicides is over done by the media to take light off deeper issues at hand.

Chicago is still a world class city,Cities like Detroit, Oakland, St louis,New Orleans, Compton,Newark need the real help.

When Chicago is having triple the amount of homicides as NYC yet 1/3 of the population, there are some serious problems.

Yeah, that means the murder rate is effectively 9 times that of NYC being 3x smaller + 3x the murders.

Btw, Memphis right now is under the radar, but it's had 27 murders as of yesterday. That's another city shooting up the murder capital rankings.

Atlanta as of yesterday is at 7.

I may be mistaken but Chicago may actually have more shootings nowadays than back when the murder totals were 900+ in the 80's and early 90's. Advances in trama care has also aided in the survival rate of shooting victims today.
