Thing is, as soon as it get's warm in Chicago and Detroit, it might as well be a nightly news report on Vietnam, circa 1967. The killings really ramp up and on a weekend the dead and wounded rival that of platoons that got ambushed on the MeKong Delta.
St.Louis picked up another award, this time for the most violent city in the country. Sooner or later our Mayor is going to have to fork over some money to the feds to keep our city off that list.

Yeah, something tells me the National Guard is going to be camped out in Chicago come May.
The Chicago PD is doing like Baltimore and only doing the bare minimum.
It's a union strong arm tactic. When the media, public, and politicians no longer blindly support them they only bounce around from 911 call to 911 call. They do absolutely nothing proactive.

And mind you, that is the "tame" Chicago PD blog. There was another Chicago PD blog that was filled with racist vitriol that rivaled a KKK blog. It was subsequently shut down when Chicago PD top brass were able to identify the website owner. Likely a result of the officer doing stuff on the work computer. Just repeating the websites vulgar name is grounds for a city-data TOS violation tho.

When Chicago is having triple the amount of homicides as NYC yet 1/3 of the population, there are some serious problems.

I may be mistaken but Chicago may actually have more shootings nowadays than back when the murder totals were 900+ in the 80's and early 90's. Advances in trama care has also aided in the survival rate of shooting victims today.
