Why yet another pizza place opens up in CP is beyond me. Potomac Pizza is ok but nothing special. Seems like a wasted retail opportunity in the hotel to have them there. But hard to complain overall about the options coming to the hotel.

Hopefully the purple line gets resolved (ie approved) soon so the next wave of investment can begin.

I think Potomac Pizza is going to manage Bagels and Grinds, maybe there is a connection or maybe the hotel was glad to lease up all its space so quickly. What other pizza is there in CP besides Ledo?

This is true. Greenberg is the owner of both.

Here is a 2003 Washingtonian piece on pizza. The author went to Naples Italy and then came back to compare pizzas made in the DC area. Pizza Paradiso, soon to open in Hyattsville, got the top spot. Potomac Pizza, included in the delivery pizza section, got a "Pretty Darn Good" rating.

"Potomac Pizza (9812 Falls Rd., Potomac, 301-299-7700; 9709 Traville Gateway Dr., Rockville, 301-279-2234; 625 Center Point Way, Gaithersburg, 301-977-9777). The crust was a bit tough, but quality of the ingredients made the difference—two of the owners are also involved with the Potomac Village Deli. The fresh-tasting tomato sauce is applied with restraint and not too sweet. The meats are good and plentiful and the cheese nicely crusty. The meat calzone with tomato sauce is a real star."

My kids grew up in the old, sleepy, grungy College Park. Summertimes, businesses just shut down. The new development is great, and I can live without Tartarugas/Ratsies, but have they razed the Little Tavern yet? Once they do that, I'm never going back.

More than likely it will be gone when the new city hall is built. There are plans to redevelop that whole block when the new city hall is built.

Some info on the innovation district - sounds like are really going to transform the route on both sides. Interesting that the armory is in play for redevelopment. I wonder if they are going to release the draft plan.
