GM’s direction is just fine. Escalade sells well, the CT6 doesn’t. It has nothing to do with marketing. The Escalade is an SUV and the CT6 is a sedan. SUV is what people want.
Except a Fiat 124 .... is a rebadged Miata !

I'm just wondering what they are.
When Tesla has sales like the F -150 that will be the day I’ll buy a Tesla but we all know that will never happen. Look at these statistics from 2017 for the F-150 Tesla can only hope to do this good.

Jun 7, 2017 · To break it down even further, Ford sells 102 trucks per hour, meaning an average of nearly two people are driving off the lot with a new F-150 every minute in the U.S., 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Then watch what happens... 2018 sales:

XT5 – 60566
MB GLE - 46010
X5 - 45013

This is because the women that drive the sales of these things do not care about "Sport" and "Back Wheel Drive".
It's "Does it drive nice?" and "Where do I put my purse?" and "Will the grandkids fit back there?".
Cadillac learned this with the Gen 1 SRX... the Lexus model for CUVs is the one that sells, not the MB/BMW model.
And so they switched with the Gen 2 SRX and sales soared. It continues with the XT5.

Watch the XT6 go as well. It's not huge but it has a 3rd row that actual full sized people fit in. Yes, the grandkids WILL fit back there, even if they're big.
Most of the class (including Acadia) it is in cannot say that. Their 3rd rows aren't good, but customers demand it, so there it is.
The XT4/5/6 are atrocious embarrassing vehicles that should never have been developed that way. They should have been ( like the X5/GLE) based on their sedan platforms like the ATS/CTS/CT6 .... it’s just horrific short term thinking and cost cutting from GM.

In 2018 Ford Ford F-Series sales were - 909,330. this includes the F-150 F-250 and the F-350.

The F-150 in particular stands out, with more than 40 million sold over the last 60 years.

How many decades did it take Ford to become the truck sales leader? For what Tesla has done in such a short period of time, no other car company has ever done. They sold 245k Electric vehicles last year with starting price point of what $45-50k, and they're EV, EV's are the hardest sell of all vehicles. I'm not a fanboi at all, but what they've done is amazing.

Different parent companies, though, right? Unless you mean the power train is coming from the same place.

When I'm thinking "rebadged _____" I'm thinking of Toyota FR-S / Subaru BR-Z, or Pontiac Solstice / Saturn Sky.

Speaking of which... everyone praises the Miata... has anyone out there driven both a Miata and a Saturn Sky to compare?

(As an aside, one of the most fascinating cars, to me, was the BMW Z3M Coupe)

So what cars were not around like they are now and if it were not for Ford there would be no mass production would there. Tesla is in deep financial trouble and is living on borrowed time. And Tesla has a new worry and that one is called VW and unlike Tesla VW can produce vehicles faster then Tesla.

Volkswagen systems can't cope with 10K electric car orders

I'm sure the Superduty plant is working three shifts...

The F-450 pickup set it apart from Ram and GM for a good while.

It's all price. The local dealer here has a real estate style yard sign, one for every ten feet of curb, on every patch of property they own. They are printed with 15-20% off 2018s and 10% off 2019s. They also run the, "If you can fog a mirror, make over $300 a week, and have ID, we CAN GET YOU financed!!! " style of marketing. I'll stick with the opinion of several guys I know who work on about anything with wheels, for independent shops. That being, you can't go wrong avoiding Nissan products.
