Just too much virtue signaling and not enough listening.
Nope, that came from the Democrats when Roosevelt was president. No boomers even born until long after that.

"The Social Security Act, signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1935, created Social Security, a federal safety net for elderly, unemployed and disadvantaged Americans. The main stipulation of the original Social Security Act was to pay financial benefits to retirees over age 65 based on lifetime payroll tax contributions."

Too many clueless people from younger generations, want to blame Boomers, for their own failures.

Hard work, saving instead of partying, not going to restaurants virtually for every meal instead of doing so once or twice a week and the rest of the time making your own meals, wanting new cars, fancy clothes, and more is a major part of their problem. They just can't or won't see admit it. CA is not alone in this but has more acting that way than most other States.

So you're saying the boomer generation never sold their kids on the idea this was the way to go? Is that why there are so many students getting degrees in pointless degrees racking up student debt?

Are you trying to prove my point or something? We should be working until we're in our 70s and live 10-15 years work free if we're lucky? Maybe if they didn't buy into the social security mene and try to sell it to generations later they wouldnt have to work for the man so later in life.

Unless they love what they do of course.

But the first generation to actually retire at 65 on Social Security was the early Boomers, pretty much. At the time that SS was created, no one had even contributed yet. They couldn't collect until after. having contributed a minimum number of years. That meant, the last cohort of the WWII generation, and the early Boomers.
