NW, I didn't really answer you. I'll take pictures but they don't show the magic in the air. I did try to take some last time but I don't have an expensive phone and they didn't turn out. I think I'll try with my fire tablet.

Hawk, I woke up after a restless night because there is unusual pain where I get a stabbing pain, only on the left side where the incision is. For a moment I wished I'd never gone to the doctor. Just a moment feeling sorry for myself. I know it will eventually get better.

Over the years we spent 3 winters in our motorhome, in the RV Park at Avi Casino, across the Colorado River from Fort Mohave, close to Laughlin & Bullhead City, Az. One Thanksgiving it was 89 F . During Dec/Jan/Feb, Some nights it was 28-32 with a very cold strong wind...Brrrr By May, it sometimes got up to 120 F. ...It was time for us to head north to our forests in Oregon.

Do you think it would be more comfortable for you with less pain, to wrap a hot water bottle with a towel & rest it against your neck when you want to sleep?
With your artery/ies almost clogged all the way, surgery had to be done, imho.

I'm so sorry you are going through so much pain. What does the doc or nurses say about your pain?

All they say is to keep the area clean and that it was surgery. Yes, I know it had to be done. I just wasn't expecting so much pain. I hadn't it of a hot water bottle. I'll try it.

Change of subject. Poor Marigold somehow got the fly strip down and attached to her fur. I panicked for a moment but thought of my water/vinegar sprayer. I was hesitant to use that but realized it's what I use to clean my hands along with sanitizer. So I sprayed where it was stuck and it came right off. Just the vinegar, not the sanitizer.

Poor kitten was scared to death and ran and hid when I got it off, but the spray kept it from hurting her.

So if it ever happens to your fur baby, this works. I can't figure out how she did it as I put it up very high.

Aww poor Marigold, glad you found a quick solution. Good to know if one of mine ever do that.
Sorry you're hurting so much, don't try to over do it, too much too soon.
I know you're eager to get going but just be careful.
I imagine your excitement is top level to get "on the road again". Lol

I'm trying not to do too much and there's a lot I can't put in the car until the last minute, jackery and anything to do with electronics as I don't want to chance their being in the car if it freezes overnight. Also things I use on a daily basis, things I want to go in last so they're readily available, etc. Also, cat supplies that I'm putting in the open space of the car tree. No sense moving them twice.

So there's quite a bit that will be last minute. I did get the food packets in and most of my clothes but still have quite a lot to get in the car. There's a surprising amount of room since the travel cubes can be scrunched together. So, so glad I bought those!

I've decided it will take as long as it has to because you're right, I have to be careful not to overdo it. I hope it'll be Tuesday morning as my brother said a storm is coming Wednesday. If I'm not ready and I have to wait it out, so be it. I know from my trip here that I can easily make it to the Walmart in Sioux City, SD before stopping. Then I'll travel as far as I can go to reach warmer weather. Once I get to Texas I'm going to take my time.

I may stay in the state parks in New Mexico that have been recommended. I HAVE to get over my dislike of New Mexico because it's irrational. When my son left for college I took a sabbatical from my job and decided to visit Albuquerque for a few months. Even though I'd saved quite a bit, I thought I'd supplement my savings by doing temp work.

As you can imagine, that was a long time ago and hopefully things have changed a lot since then, but at the time I'd never encountered such racism and prejudice in my life! I remember thinking, Who are these people?'

I worked with and served many people of all different colors and backgrounds in my job and my neighborhood was also very mixed. I'd never encountered such attitudes. I was accepted because I happened to be the right color but the blatant way some were treated disgusted me. I didn't stay long, just a few months. But it left me with a bad taste in my mouth and the feeling of never wanting to be in that state again.

Since traveling back and forth from here to Arizona, I've since traveled through New Mexico but never stopped for long, just at overnight truck stops when necessary. But I know it's a beautiful state and I want to enjoy that beauty, not just rush by it.

That's why I want to spend some time visiting different campgrounds.

I'm not sure. I do want to be there in a few weeks. I think the most time I will spend in a single campground is a couple of days. From Underwood to Quartzsite is between 1800-2000 miles, depending on the route. I try not to drive over 300 miles a day and depending on the weather, sometimes I only drove 50 or less due to high winds.

It might take a week but if I want to stay and explore, it might take longer. That's the beauty of being retired, you don't have to have a set schedule.

That sounds wonderful! Can't wait to hear about it
