I'm being silly, but then again, my cats could always tell if I'm getting ready to go on a trip. Usually at least one of them would climb into my suitcase.
Clearly Marigold will go anywhere and be happy, as long as she's with you!
I think I'll leave today. Cramming everything into the car. There's still room but it's going to be tight. I am so tired of this cold, just want to be out of it.
The things I have left to get in the car are, of course, the things I didn't want to chance freezing and the things I use every day. I may have to sleep in the front seat until I get somewhere warm because, even though I have hot hands - and they are great, my fingers get cold and I have to stop and go inside. So I am not organizing as well as I could.
I left room in the front for the important things, coffee and it's makings and the power stations but have to put things on the mattress that could go in the spot underneath it. I just can't stay out in the cold to organize it.
Everything I'm bringing is important. They're things I either had a hard time finding, for example, the cat food she likes, or things I don't want to rebuy. There's no sense paying for something I already have, especially when it will only be a few days until I set up a camp and have more room in the car. I do plan on staying a bit in New Mexico and maybe Texas, but otherwise I'll just head to Arizona. I'm envious of the things I'm missing. The campfires to acquaint people with each other and there's an outdoor concert I'll be missing. But my timing couldn't be helped.
I'm glad I waited as the swelling has finally gone down and I don't feel so self conscious about how I look. Well, back to packing; I'll let you know how it goes.
Bon voyage, Meo! I suspect that there are quite a few of us who are anxious for you to get started on your journey. I hope all goes well for you and Marigold.
I'm not going to make it. I'm almost packed but I would have to leave by 12/ noon to make it to my first spot to stop and I would be leaving a mess for my sister to clean. Sunset is at 4:57 and I can't drive in the dark.
I just can't leave a mess for my sister, especially after all she has done for me.
So, Marigold and I will stay one more night and my sister and I can relax and talk and in the meantime, I'll clean the trailer.
Glad I didn't leave! I went into town to gas up so I can just leave tomorrow and the wind was horrible. It's supposed to be good tomorrow and I'll be even happier.
I'll feel better too at not leaving the place a mess. Bet I would have had quite a guilt trip if I did.
Thanks Molly. I feel much better knowing my sister is not facing a mess. And, I averted the awful wind of today.
I still have to organize the car but I will wait until I'm in warmer weather for that. I can't believe that I packed all Marigolds treats and put them in the car and can't find them. Her food is visible, but not the treats so I will have to stop at Wal-Mart to get some. It's right on the way so not a problem.
At least I know I'm almost gone as everything except her catbox, feeding bowls and my bedding is in the car. I'm so looking forward to meeting the 'Meet at Q' group. They sound like good, like minded people.

Marigold has been obviously worried and super clingy when I have taken time to rest. She's still clingy but has settled down. I think when her cat box and food/water bowls, which will be the last step, she'll realize we're going traveling.
