Meo, I just found your thread and have been reading it for a little while. You said you loved Kentucky and Tennessee. Next trip through try heading further west in each state. I-24 crosses Tennessee from Chattanooga to Clarksville and on across Kentucky and Illinois. As far as your (can't remember the exact name of it) senior discount pass for national parks, you could use that to get a big discount at several campgrounds in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, 177,000 acres cleared out and developed by TVA. There are a few campgrounds where you can just fill out registration and drop that and your $10 to camp in a primitive campground close enough to stick your toes in the water. There's plenty to see in the area. Then, after you cross the Ohio River into Illinois, you need to get off the interstate at Metropolis, Ill. Since there are no other towns called Metropolis in the US, they laid claim to being the home of Superman. There's a huge Superman statue on the court square and a bronze statue of Lois Lane a few blocks away. Have a safe trip!
Glad to know you made it safely to your destination in MN. Life on the farm seems idyllic. Your travels were so interesting to read. I looked forward to them daily. No matter how much you wrote, I always wanted more. If you'd wrote a book about your travels, I would have loved it.
I'm going to make a point of exploring more once I leave here in the fall. One of my big goals while I'm here is to get Marigold accustomed to her harness. She hates it but if I can get her to use it, we can do more things together. I think I'll set up her cat tent here too. I didn't need it in Arizona but if we camp on blm land, it might come in handy.

Thank you klassy.
Maybe I should write a book about it. When I started this post, I didn't think people would be that interested. I just wanted to share what I was experiencing.
When you hit the road again, maybe consider the Indian reservation casinos as overnight stops. I remembered that a buddy of mine frequently stays at them for nights on end and at least at the one we visited with him, were very tolerant of such people. There were several full-timers in the same parking lot and they all watched out for each other.

Best wishes!
That's good information. Thank you, I never considered doing that. Outside of BLM land, in my travels and overnight stays, I tend to 'give back' in appreciation. Realizing.that they're not obligated to let me stay, I want to show my appreciation. I suppose I could do that by buying dinner or souvenirs.
Marigold is not the happies cat right now. I cleaned her catbox and put fresh litter in and set up her food and water bowls next to it, inside the trailor. I carried her in, she sniffed around and ran back to the car and her cat tree. I haven't gotten that moved yet and the car windows are down.
I should have made my bed first I think, so she could have smelled the blankets.
She certainly is a traveling cat. Hopefully she'll adjust soon to this new lifestyle.
