I should have made my bed first I think, so she could have smelled the blankets.

She certainly is a traveling cat. Hopefully she'll adjust soon to this new lifestyle.
I can hear Marigold saying ..."Come on mommy let's hit the road !!"

Some casinos offer free overnight parking, others charge a modest fee. Fees may also change for the weekend. Each one is different.

Just ask. Their food is usually pretty good, and often reasonably priced, because they want people to stay as long as possible!

Only drawback is you often have to walk through a dense cloud of tobacco smoke that hovers over the slot machines.

Meo, maybe Marigold was worried that you were leaving her behind. She certainly didn’t take any chances!

Good to know, jacqueg.

Today was a good day. The hard part was emptying out the car. I'm probably 1/2 way through. Also did a load of laundry. I'm tired now, but it's a good tired. A lot left to do, but it's a start.

Had dinner with my sister, brother and my sister's so. That went well. Then they got me hooked up to the electricity via the garage. Such a luxury! Next comes moving the trailer closer to the house and connecting to the sewer. It'll be a few days yet.

Trying to explain how, after successfully living in my car for so long that just being here and what they've already done so far is such a luxury for me was/is hard for them to comprehend.

I explained how amazing this journey has been and just experiencing the beauty of our land was worth every hardship. It's not even hardship. When a sunset or the mountains take your breath away and you experience the beauty of nature, there is no hardship. I wish I had the words to explain it. But mere words seem inadequate.

I agree Katy. Once I had the bed made and she smelled our combined scents, she has been in the bedroom. It'll probably take her awhile, but I think she'll realize that I'm not leaving her.

I just found this thread, and read through your entire adventure (so far!) Wow, I'm so impressed with what you've done and it stirs early dreams of mine of doing the same. Even reading through it, I'd think to myself, '...and she's doing it in a Cube! With her cat!'

So much admiration for your adventurous spirit!

It's 32° here this morning. Last night my sister worried that I would be too cold and asked me to please stay in the house, rrather than the trailer. I exp!ained that it was no different from some of the cold days in Arizona and it would entail moving all Marigolds things as well, including her cat box, food and water, etc.

Yes, the trailer house is chilly, but it's not extreme. Thankfully I'd left my thick, warm comforter with my sister as it was really too big, bulky, and warm to take when I left. That, combined with my regular comforter kept me toasty all night. In Minnesota winters you need extreme clothing and blankets so the things I left here are now coming in handy.

I don't know how long this cold snap will last but it was chilly like this in the winter in Arizona too. It'll warm up soon, I'm sure. It always does. The trailer does have a heater but it's not hooked up yet.

On the plus side, Marigold is racing through the house, jumping onto her cat tree, the coych, the bed and thoroughly enjoying the space and looking out the windows.

My sister's dog, a large mix - don't know what breed she is but she's an outside dog, came to visit me when I first arrived and now spends her evenings and mornings hanging out waiting for petting. Days she spends over at my brothers protecting and playing with the farm cats over there. All the outside animals have protective shelter, the cats have a calf house and Taz, the dog has a luxurious dog house.

Taz and I have a special relationship and I'm so glad she's not forgotten me. Love that dog!
