But that doesn't fit in with the whole fundamentalist belief: Boys are to marry that virgin with a purity ring. Child is produced ASAP. With more to follow because the Word says to be fruitful and multiply. They do it...... so of course they believe Mary and Joesph did it.

There is NO WAY a fundamentalist is going to accept that Mary remained a virgin. It goes against every concept of "family" they have.
Really hard to be a virgin after a child comes out.

Mary is a virgin. She conceives Jesus without having sex. She doesn't have sex with Joseph while she was pregnant. (Or do you believe she did? Hard to keep up with what people believe on these threads.) She delivers Jesus. Do you believe Mary's physical delivery of Jesus meant she was no longer a virgin?

Sorry, but HAVING a baby isn't what virginity is based on.

Yes, ask any woman. Virginity includes a physical condition and child birth ends that.

Oh but it is, as it removes/breaks what Virginity is all about.

A blast from the past. The last time I heard that definition was in the mid-60's. It was used by some fundamentalist parents who didn't want their kids learning about the human reproduction system as part of 8th grade biology.

Virginity is the state of a person who has never engaged in sexual intercourse.

That is ONE aspect. There is also another physical aspect and for Mary that ended, thus NOT a virgin after Jesus birth. After all, what is the traditional evidence of virginity?

Uh, I AM a woman. Loss of virginity happens with sexual intercourse, not birth.

Normally. But you could lose it in other ways including birth of a baby fertilized invetro, etc.

The reality is Mary was ...... different after Jesus birth, not the same physically at all. A major change.

This shows the silliness of a perpetually virgin Mary, which is never mentioned in Scripture, and we find no indication it was necessary after birth, etc. The idea Joseph was too old has no basis in Scripture as he led them to Egypt, AFTER he led them to Bethlehem 2 years before that for Jesus birth and led them back to Nazareth. He was more than able to have sex with Mary and no Scriptural reason existed not to.

Now what men want to believe throws up all sorts of interesting arguments, but the Bible gives no indication of such nor any reason or need for it.
