Can anyone name for me a Christian church that holds to the "Soul Sleep" teachings as being their official point of view?
Did Jesus call death sleep? I choose to believe Jesus not a preacher in a pulpit who tells me different. The error you make is you do not understand what Jesus meant by sleep and all the times he referred to death as sleep. You totally ignore all the verses that say the dead know nothing, are aware of nothing. You ignore Paul when he talks about finding comfort in the fact that we will be resurrected. What is the point of being resurrected if we are already happy walking, talking, praising God? Why aren`t we just giving a new body immediately when we die? What is the point of believers waiting to get a different body thousands of years later after all that time of being in the Lord`s presence? Obviously there isn`t any. You want to believe what you have been taught or what tickles your ears and makes you feel good about death instead of believing the bible.
The reason so much emphasis is put on the resurrection is because it is a blessed event. It is what all believers long for. To be awkened again and be with the lord forevermore. You devalue the event of the resurrection when you disregard so many scriptures and the BLESSED HOPE of the resurrection.

I believe I have finally come down to the real heart of the matter!
I have just learned an important fact about the teaching of soul sleep and the people that put their blind trust in such a teaching..... they don't go to church.

Now I see where you get your beliefs from....man`s teaching..ie; the church. But, I already knew that. But thanks for pointing that out to us. At least you admit it. that is more than most will admit too.
You can believe what your church tells you but I will believe what the bible says. I`ll put my faith in the Holy Spirit and God`s word and not the church.

As I try to write this without offending anyone, and saying this with the hope bring more towards the truth, I find it almost impossible to conclude anything other than the church's\ministers shana attends\listens to are the mouth piece of those who oppose the truth.
One thing is for certian, it is not because of lack of exposure that she can use as an excuse before God that she isn't aware that God is triune and that those who reject Jesus will not enter heaven forever.

None of the people that were so forcefully talking about soul-sleep have anything to say as to a christian church that actually teaches the idea????????________....LOL
So let me make sure we all understand this point:
When I asked what church do you go to?, you got no answer?

I mean think about how that looks to me.
Dont you see how being unable to name your home church, as well as being unable to even name one church in the phone book that teaches soul-sleep sorta makes the idea look like nothing more than just something that people make up on their own?!
Now Im not asking "What church do you fully agree with?"
and Im not asking you to fully agree with your own church,
(God knows I disagree with many things going on with my own church),
But when asked "Alan what church do you go to?" for Pete's sake I got an answer!
I don't just try to change the subject or stare at the ground and hope the question goes away...LOL
But what I now see oh so very clearly is that there are people who seem very willing to talk about ideas they have dreamed up on their own, but when asked if there is any support for their ideas in the Christian church?...they are mute for some strange reason...
Could it be that they deep down understand that they lack such support?
I dont know....
What I do know is that asking for the name of the Christian church a christian attends? is not a trick question.
Asking for the name of a Christian church that teaches soul-sleep, should be a question that has an answer to it.
Im not saying that "no" christian church teaches soul sleep...(I dont have a clue , thats the reason I asked) but the lack of any ability to answer such a basic question totally undercuts the pro-soul sleep arguement and makes it look like just an invented idea of people that might call themselves "christian" but actually have no connection at all to any Christian church.
They seem to me to be flundering ships without a rudder, and like coals left to cool outside the harth.
