I don't owe anyone an explanation. Minneapolis is the most over-rated cities in the United States by far.
Why?

You seem upset when I point this fact out. If you want to get into a discussion about it you can respond to my DM. Or continue with the passive-aggressive thing. Makes no difference to me either way.
The only person upset is you because when pressed to simply discuss "in public" why you don't like Minneapolis, you get defensive. There is nothing passive aggressive about asking questions. You may not have enough courage to answer the question for whatever reason, but don't attack her for asking, that's petty. Clearly it "makes a difference" or else you wouldn't have responded.
Which Northern City is the most underrated and which is the most overrated in your opinion and why? Out of the underrated cities which do you think will be the next world class or great city in time. Out of the overrated cities which do you think deserves all the praise it gets?
I'm defining "northern" as the area east of the Missouri River and north of the Ohio and Potomac.
I'll start
Overrated: Washington DC (runner up: Boston)
Underrated: Cleveland (runner up: Rochester, NY)
Overrated: 3 way tie....Washington DC, NYC, and Boston
Underrated: St. Louis and Milwaukee
I don't see how Philly is "overrated" since it get's badmouthed (unfairly) and doesn't get enough positive pub. It's way too often overshadowed by nearby NYC and DC. Philly is a great city in it's own right and would demand attention if it were located in Wyoming, not simply smack dab in the middle of the Northeast Corridor.

An opinion (including my own, yours, and everyone's on this thread) about an area being overrated or underrated is far from being a "fact". Two people can experience the same place and come away with two differing views. Again, these are opinions, far from scientifically factual.
I do think Philly is underrated. The city--for all the positives--has a pretty terrible national reputation. Used to go down for the Dad Vail regatta every year. Incredible the amount of wealth Philly once had. There is certainly a faded glory type of charm.
