I honestly think people in city data miss understand San Jose. If they're downtown, it's all great, but once out in the city sprawl, it's boring. The city already has great neighborhoods: Willow Glen, Santana Row, Japan Town and Alameda, but they're disconnected from each other. The city is adding density between those areas, but it's just an added bonus to the city since the city offers choices of urban or suburban.

"One of the nicest downtowns in the Bay Area." Ok well it's also the largest city in the Bay Area. Of the top 3, it has the worst downtown. I'd even put some suburban ones over it, especially when you compare the much smaller suburbs to such a massive city of over 1 million people. San Jose is the epitome of boring soulless suburbs, but nobody from the Bay would ever admit that it's worse than LA in that regard.

As for weather, those that enjoy the summer temperatures in SF and Oak are in the minority. Most people would prefer summers in SJ, Sac, or LBC because they actually get warm, unlike Oak.

Yea, I'm really not quite getting this insistence on these perfect Oakland summer climate or these claims about hellacious Sacramento summers.

It's not really bad, but among these four, Oakland easily has the worst summer climate.

Unfortunately for your 'important details', we're comparing Sacramento to Oakland, which in summer is far more comfortable than Sacramento, imcomparably more comfortable.
Your claim that Sacramento summers are "horrible" is bogus.

1. Sacramento summers are no worse and often more comfortable than most cities in the US. Comparing the 4 cities from the thread with other American cities is not only relative it is useful and helpful in describing what the weather is like comparatively speaking.

2. Not only is Sacramento summers more comfortable than Phoenix and Vegas, Sacramento summers are more comfortable than 85% of the other cities in the US. I've proven this over and over again.

3. Some people, a lot of people, feel that an Oakland summers are simply too cool and cloudy and they are used to a warmer summer than Oakland offers.

Hahaha Oakland has a more comfortable summer climate by far vs Sacramento and its not even a question--you are the one insisting against common sense and I find this very amusing.

Haha, that's ridiculous, LOL. Who wants a chilly summer? The only places where that works is the Pacific Northwest because of clear skies and ridiculously long days. Oakland "Summers" LOL!

The comparison is between San Jose, Oakland, LB, and Sac.....not Phoenix or Austin. You always try to bring up the hottest cities in America in when they have nothing to do with the thread to downplay Sac's summer heat.
Bay Area people are so deluded on Sacramento summers that they even ignore where in the Bay Area they are very very close in weather and temperature.

Very very often Concord and Walnut Creek and the entire inner East Bay are near identical to Sacramento summers. Certainly Walnut Creek summers are more like Sacramento than San Francisco and Oakland. You would never know that talking to the average Bay Area resident.

I use Phoenix and Austin and Dozens and Dozens of other American cities to compare with Sacramento because it's relative and quite eye-opening if you pay attention to the facts about how comfortable and how cool Sacramento really is......because you would never get an accurate description of Sacramento weather from a coastal Californian.

One of the reasons I focus on Sacramento weather is because of the distortion of facts that comes out of a coastal Californians mouth about our weather.

Sacramento weather is near identical to SF weather 10 1/2 months out of the year and near identical to the inner East Bay in the Bay Area 12 months out of the year. You would never know this talking to someone from either SF, LA or San Diego.

If you talk to a coastal California you would think Sacramento winters are like some midwestern or northern city and that our summers are identical to any uncomfortably hot city in the US......which is just about 80% of all american cities.

What do Phoenix, Vegas and 85% of other cities in the US have to do with this thread? Sacramento is scorching hot in summer compared to Oakland in the summer time, why do you keep pretending it isnt? Ive lived in both cities for years and know this for a fact.

No most people would say Oakland's climate is more comfortable in the summer. I really dont know who you think your fooling? This is like common knowledge, the Bay is cooler. What's up the resistence to reality?
