Oh, sure, but my logic was, you can't take away KC from KS. It's basically like ignoring NYC and Philly when talking about NJ. KC is right under your nose if you live in eastern part of the state, where most of the people actually do live. And I think it's a pretty cool city.
KC is the only redeeming thing about either state. Meh, I guess the Ozarks are kind of nice, too, but KC doesn’t make up for the rest of both states.
North Carolina vs Vermont - while VT is nice it lacks coastline. North Carolina has so much - the Outer Banks, Smoky Mountains, and Charlotte/ other big cities.
Connecticut vs Georgia - The crown jewel of the country. There's simply no other way of putting it. Right in the middle of the northeast megalopolis, yet quiet and scenic. Beaches. Small towns, country greens. A bunch of small cities too, each with their own personalities and histories making them feel worlds apart despite being right next door. My beloved Fairfield alone is a top 10 state contender, let me show you:
Everyone from the CT thread knew this was coming. We used to argue about Fairfield vs Madison vs New Haven. Now, we stand united. CT ROCKS!
Virginia vs Washington - Just spectacular scenery.
Florida vs Tennessee - Coastal
Hawaii vs Montana - tougher than one would think, but yea I gotta give it to the islands
Michigan vs Wisconsin - More lakes (not that Wisco has a shortage)
Minnesota vs South Carolina - I'm counting the great lakes as coastal for this tournament
New Jersey vs New York - has everything NJ has and more
Iowa vs Utah - WAY more scenic
Louisiana vs Oregon - I really want to take a trip to the PNW soon
Maine vs Texas - New England all the way!!
Arizona vs Ohio - Yea. Not close.
Alaska vs Pennsylvania - Alaska is something special. PA... not so much. While PA is a crossroads of other states, and that can be cool, I could just go to those other states. There's nothing like AK.
California vs Rhode Island - I hate to "betray" my neighbors but how could I possibly vote against CA in this case?
Colorado vs New Mexico - Very similar states, but CO has slightly more variety.
Illinois vs Massachusetts - I'll take the smartest state in the country.
LOVE This!!! I remember back in the CT Tournament, we were all arguing about our favorite towns within the state and the rivalries that you mentioned, but now we all come together united to support our state in the tournament with all the States!!! Let's Go Connecticut!!! Hopefully we can get CT across the finish line!
Even though it breaks my rule about warmth being most important criteria, have to pick Vermont because it is simply one of the most rural and beautiful states I have visited.
Connecticut vs Georgia
Virginia vs Washington
Florida vs Tennessee
Hawaii vs Montana
Michigan vs Wisconsin Not a good matchup here. Too similar and too cold. Wisconsin only because further west.
Minnesota vs South Carolina
New Jersey vs New York
Iowa vs Utah
Louisiana vs Oregon
Maine vs Texas
Arizona vs Ohio
Alaska vs Pennsylvania Cannot vote on tihs one as I have never visited Alaska. I wouldn't vote on one state over another unless I did.
California vs Rhode Island
Colorado vs New Mexico
Illinois vs Massachusetts
