Checking in... all is good here. TFW you know I don't go to town if I can help it. I even hate going to Ritas during flu season.

I'm about to go blind staring out the windows watching for hummers!! They've been reported in the area and I swear I heard one the other day. I've also been playing around with some solar water pumps and attempting to make some water features for the birds. Hummers love to play in the water.

The hummers are here!!!!! I saw my first two yesterday and hung a few more feeders. That makes seven so far. I found some at Dollar tree so trying them out this year.

Anyone else see them yet?

I havent seen any but that's only because I dont have feeders out anymore. The weather has been nice enough for them to be out by now. Can you get some photos, Cemper?

I can try...

I'm also trying my hand at simple ( ha!!) bird baths, humming bird bird baths. Let me get them worked out and I'll send pictures of them.

Well dang it....

My Friend Rita has a mole on her wrist that she's had forever. She has them all over but this one all of a sudden flared up to the size of a raisin, a small grape actually, and just looked funny. Her son took her to the the Dermatologist. She got the results. Cancer. She doesn't know what kind so I called her son and he said he couldn't remember what kind either. She will go in the 15th of APRIL to have it removed. Some kind of circulair surgery where they remove a layer at a time.

I lost both my parents to cancer, possibly my brother and hubbys dad has cancer for the third time.

I have no words....

I'm sorry to hear that about your friend but it may be just a skin cancer and not really anything to worry about.

So sorry about Rita, Camper. If the cancer was originally a mole, it's probably melanoma. That's the most serious kind of skin cancer because of its ability to spread to other organs more rapidly than other skin cancers.

The surgery she's going to have sounds like MOHS surgery. where thin layers of cancer-containing skin are removed and examined repeatedly until only cancer-free tissue remains. I wish they could do it much sooner than April 15. That's a long way off for cancer surgery. I'll say a prayer for her each night. Please keep us updated, especially on what kind of cancer it is.

I've had several squamous cell carcinomas, They're also skin cancers and are more common than melanomas but they spread much slower. They're often found on areas of the body damaged by UV rays from the sun (also from tanning beds). I've had them on my left arm, probably from exposure to the sun while driving. I also had one behind my knee which was an unusual place.

Dang it. I usually do my grocery shopping very early on Sunday mornings. Last Sunday I went at 6:00 AM to get just a few things -- as usual, I was the only shopper in the store. I went again at 6:00 AM this morning, just to get a few items, like Lulu's frozen dog food. OMG, the store had about 30 shoppers -- at 6:00 AM -- and they were filling their carts with what looked like 6 months' worth of merchandise. About 1/2 of the shelves were empty.

Since I've been cleaning my face with rubbing alcohol for the past 40 years, I always keep a stock of at least a dozen large bottles of 70%. Thank goodness, because the aisles that normally have rubbing alcohol were empty.

I've also always stocked up on the large canisters of Clorox Wipes (I have at least 20-25 at any given time). My daughter said it's impossible to find those in the stores too, so she came over and took a couple of bottles of rubbing alcohol and several canisters of the Wipes.

These are the only two times I've been out of the house in over a month. I just havent felt up to getting out much lately and it looks like I havent missed much if people are all panicking like this.

For the past month I've been doing my grocery shopping through grubhub (an online grocery shopping/delivery service) and Amazon Fresh. But, when I tried grocery shopping through Amazon Fresh a couple of days ago, they were out of most of the groceries that I usually buy.

Somewhere God is laughing (or maybe crying).
