Choosing a candidate is like trying to pick out a good loaf of bread at the store. Too many choices and the ingredients are all junk.

Well not any more. Obviously Trump cracked that nut. And the media has hated him ever since.

Democrats should take lesson from this and not pick a candidate because the media wants it.

How is that a long term solution? The long term solution must be to push for another new deal, and that means taking on the most powerful special interests in the country.

Let us be reminded what FDR said when he welcomed the hatred of Wall Street:

Bernie's medicare for all plan is not based upon incremental changes but rather on a plan that is predicated upon having a veto proof house and senate, and a SCOTUS that would support a key feature of his medicare for all plan - banning the sale of employer based or private insurance - how can you even campaign on that?

I prefer Amy Klobuchar or Pete Buttigieg both of whom understand that anyone who advocates for completely eliminating the private insurance industry along with the 500,000 jobs they provide overnight is not going to succeed in their goal and will probably not beat Trump.

You're right about that. The Trump upset took everyone by surprise. I remember watching on election night. The pure shock and dismay on the faces of those covering it. Even I was flabbergasted. I thought for sure the old shoe would have won. Between you and me (and I guess every one else who reads this ), I was never more happy to see her lose. I only wish the winner had been someone I truly respect and admire. I guess beggars can't be choosers, right?

Pete is getting international recognition.

EXCLUSIVE: 'First Gent' frontrunner! Husband of presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg takes the spotlight with quirky posts about couple's rescue dogs, waiting for 'UberEats' and searching for his slippers as Pete 'crushes it' in interviews and town halls

I would vote for him over any of crazed Democrats otherwise running. In fact, I may do so in the NC Primary.

I wasn't a bit surprised that Trump won. After the Comey letter a week before the election I figured Hillary's chances of winning had dropped to less than 50%. In fact I don't know anyone on a personal level who was surprised that he won. I never liked her and liked her husband even less, but the DNC does some funny stuff, they nominate a queen or king and expect us to all fall in line and support them.

I was hopeful that Trump would be more 'normal' than he was during the campaign but that sure didn't happen

We've had incremental changes for 50 years ever since Congress refused to expand Medicare to all and instead only covering the 65+ group in the 1960s. What has those 50 years gotten us? The most callous and immoral health care system in the developed world. Of course the ruling class are not going to give up their power without a fight.

Both Klobuchar and Buttigieg do not understand stuff more than others. But they beg the ultra wealthy in the health care sector for campaign money so will promise to serve their interests at the expense of the regular person. Thats why they advocate for what they do. The only reason they even push for any change at all is because certain sectors of corporate power which they are beholden to feel that the cost of health care is hurting their profits too much and they find it difficult to compete. So again, human lives mean nothing. Its all about the almighty dollar. Whats so great about that?

Smart and honest. Most average democrat voters are center right, so when they see some who has as much faith in the system as they do, they’ll be drawn in.

Also he can speak 8 languages so he is worldly enough to please internationalists who are embarrassed by how Europeans see Americans.

Finally the media has the fact that he is gay to try and make his candidacy another historic event without actually shaking the boat too much.
No possible way on earth is this guy is going to be the dems candidate. His novelty will not make him viable. He is a born and bred socialist of socialist genes. too far left for America.

Speaking 9 languages and a nice demeanor does not make one a presidential candidate. May as well run against melania, she is nice and speaks several languages.

Dems will run michelle Obama at the last minute in their desperation.

PB is as his initials imply, lead sinker. glub. glub

You realize Trump only speaks one language—snaky, nasty rhetoric. Mayor Pete is not a socialist, but a middle of the road guy. Give us a link for your ridiculous diatribe.
