Smart and honest. He believes in corporate propaganda, and will push right wing policies like every other president in the past 100 hundred years and the American people will jump in joy as society becomes a corporate lifeless thing, and capital is exploited from the rest of the world to meet their appetite.

Most average democrat voters are center right, so when they see some who has as much faith in the system as they do, they’ll be drawn in.

Also he can speak 8 languages so he is worldly enough to please internationalists who are embarrassed by how Europeans see Americans.

Finally the media has the fact that he is gay to try and make his candidacy another historic event without actually shaking the boat too much.
He is going to make a good run I think and is one of the few Democrats I respect. I still don't think he beats Trump but I can see him winning the Dem primary.

I don't like (more like loathe her) Harris or Warren or Biden or any of the others and I sure as heck don't want another four years of Trump. Unless he messes up or some horrible scandal surfaces, I think I may have found the guy that will get my vote.

Indeed. And this is what I've been saying. The Democrat establishment will marginalize him at their own detriment.

Yeah, no.
It’s Trump’s supporters who use “immigrant” to denote illegal.
Why else would people be complaining about the U.S. being referred to as a country of “immigrants?”

P.S. Congrats on your impending retirement.

Well-detailed, balanced profile here:

“A late March Quinnipiac poll had Pete Buttigieg, the 37-year-old mayor of South Bend, Indiana, tied with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) for fifth place nationally, putting him ahead of Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY). On Monday, Buttigieg announced his campaign raised more than $7 million in the first quarter of 2019, a non-trivial figure for a candidate that almost no one took seriously when he first entered the race. And a recent Economist/YouGov poll found Buttigieg was one of only three candidates in the Democratic field with a net-positive national approval (though a majority of those polled didn’t know enough about him to have an opinion).”

Maybe Buttigieg can beat Trump.. Perhaps voters are ready for a President with decency, integrity, compassion, intelligence, articulate speech, etc.

He's not right anything. He's just another one pushing Medicare for all and the Green New deal and host of other socialist stuff.

I think Joe Biden will win the Democratic nomination for President, should he decide to run for President. With the far left divided between multiple socialists and polls showing Democratic primary voters want a nominee who is electable, Joe Biden is the most likely nominee. The Obama/Biden ticket twice carried key swing states and won the support of white working-class voters who voted for President Trump in 2016.

How can a person have integrity if a person pretends to be for the common man while begging the super rich and the most powerful people in the country for money? How is that any different than the GOP puppets of big money?

Pushing for another Wall Street guy will just cause another Trump-style backlash 4 or 8 years later from millions upon millions of voters who are fed up with being victims of the great war against the American worker. How is that a long term solution? The long term solution must be to push for another new deal, and that means taking on the most powerful special interests in the country.

Let us be reminded what FDR said when he welcomed the hatred of Wall Street:

That was excellent You wouldn't happen to know if there are similar articles about the other candidates, would you? You've convinced me to not jump on the bandwagon so quick. As for now, the pool of candidates are slimy to me. Really, I'm just so tired of these politicians saying one thing (to get elected) and then never fulfilling their promises. Like the last president. While campaigning, he promised to give all college students 20K towards their education. After winning, he never mentioned it again. Now, Harris is saying she wants free college and medicare for everyone. Sounds great and all but just where in the heck does she think the money to pay for those thing is going to come from. Just another lie coming from someone who I feel is one of, if not the, most slimiest people running. If she becomes the democratic choice, I would vote for Trump, even though I didn't vote for him last time. The thought of that makes me want to hurl.

I don’t agree with Buttigieg’s stance on immigration and will not vote for him either. However the DNC and media have obviously chosen him as the 2020 candidate just like they did with Obama and Hillary. The media is absolutely fawning over him. It’s frustrating because I really like Andrew Yang. I wish he would get more attention. I would absolutely vote for him if he made it on the ticket.
Exactly. I've said for years that media is the one who really elects the president. They are a very powerful voice and too many voters are sucked in by what they read in newspapers or hear on the news. Right now, Buttigieg is getting a lot of positive press but as the old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I wish it was simpler. Choosing a candidate is like trying to pick out a good loaf of bread at the store. Too many choices and the ingredients are all junk.
