In effect, fascism is simply a more subtle form of government ownership than is socialism."" Mussolini

fascism..socialism lite.. corporatism, massive corporations that run everything, CONTROLLED by massive governmental regulations and taxes..anti individual freedom, anti individual capitalism.. pro- crony capitalism (corporatism)

Fascist Italy had in the thirties what was arguably the most comprehensive welfare State in the world at that time, in fact, that Italian Fascism was noticeably closer to Communism than Nazism was. This is not only because of the influence of Marxism on Mussolini's ideology but because Mussolini's nationalism was sentimental and nostalgic rather than the intellectual and ideological nationalism of Hitler. Thus it is primarily the degree of ideological focus on nationalism that distinguishes the three forms of authoritarian socialism: Nazism, Fascism and Communism.

The primary goal of Germany’s national socialists was to “create a classless” society. Hitler’s unions were central in this cause. In fact, Hitler gave the unions their long-awaited demand, one that the Weimar unions were never able to pull off, a National Labor Day, May 1, 1933.

the germans could no longer afford to keep paying the weimar unions, so they nationalized them just like they did everything else. you know, central planning, a key component of socialism. as i stated, their goal was "a classless society". what's the problem with the government running the unions? leftists love the government to run everything! they routinely fight for more government control and regulation everyday. so, from my pov, a union (EXACTLY what the daf was) controlled by a strong central government should be lauded by the left, unless they're being hypocrites, that is. bottom line, the nazis had unions. any assertion otherwise is a complete and total lie, or ignorance.

A Union is nothing more than a Monopoly on Labor. Call it a Labor Trust, Labor Cartel, corporation, or Monopoly, or a commune(aka communism) the practice is the same. The Few (leaders) have such powerful influence over the market (labor) that they control nearly every aspect of it.

liberals are not able to think for themselves so they often have an Absolute understanding of a term that has been bastardized by their masters. For example 'Union' comes from the Latin term unus meaning 'one'. One voice for the many.

big government, big welfare, and the want or desire for complete government ownership

The Socialist party reaffirms its eternal faith in the future of the Workers' International, destined to bloom again, greater and stronger, from the blood and conflagration of peoples. It is in the name of the International and of Socialism that we invite you, proletarians of Italy, to uphold your unshakeable opposition to war". Musilini

“Even with Europe in decay, still a war should have roused the healthy elements; a war should have awakened a lot of hidden powers, and surely so much energy would have been present among 250 million people that at least a respectable battle would have occurred, in which both parties could have reaped some honor, as much honor as courage and bravery can gain on the battlefield.” carl marx

And if Marx was not a Leftist, who would be? Mussolini's "Fascist" ideas were in fact Marxist, and hence Leftist.

For being so unknown, Pete has sure made a big splash very suddenly.

I don't know how far he will go, but he sure made the upcoming election season a lot more interesting, and it was quite interesting before he threw his hat in the ring.

I agree, and another guy to pay attention to is Andrew Yang. I sort of wish they would run together on a ticket together.

Some of us knew Trump would win in July. Many thought my son and I were nuts when we said Trump was going to win.

Yup. It seems outsiders now have more winning potential than they've ever had before in both parties.

Both parties are all through with nominating the next in succession now. There won't be any more turns at the bat just because the party's rulers think someone 'deserves' the nomination. It didn't work for McCain, Romney, or Hillary. Those days are gone.

I guess we will all see what develops with Buttigieg. I think his campaign will be, in many ways, a predictor of what will come in the 21st century for the next 20 years.

Smart and honest. He believes in corporate propaganda, and will push right wing policies like every other president in the past 100 hundred years and the American people will jump in joy as society becomes a corporate lifeless thing, and capital is exploited from the rest of the world to meet their appetite.

Most average democrat voters are center right, so when they see some who has as much faith in the system as they do, they’ll be drawn in.

Also he can speak 8 languages so he is worldly enough to please internationalists who are embarrassed by how Europeans see Americans.

Finally the media has the fact that he is gay to try and make his candidacy another historic event without actually shaking the boat too much.
Well your premise is wrong from the start with comments like "Most average democrat voters are center right".

Most of the country is center right, made up mostly of Republicans, many independents, and some Democrats. In reality most of the normal (D) voters have switched their party allegiance, or just don't vote. Loud & Proud Democrats are new liberals, some old school ones (but fewer every minute) left and hard core communists pretending to be socialists. Either way, they are well out of the mainstream with their kooky leftist agenda.

The #WalkAway movement is real, and I know of at least 4 life long Democrats who refused to vote for Obama or Hillary, with two voting for Trump and at least one more vowing to do so in 2020.

That theory of yours was pretty much laid to rest during the midterms, or hadn't you noticed?

AndreI Yang is the one I want. I don’t think he and Buttigieg could run together as they’re opposed on a lot of ideas.

Hmm. Nope. Trump gained seats in the US Senate, unheard of in modern political history, and his losses in the house were far far better than Obama.

Given the amount of money the Democrats spent, and changing rules in several states to allow ballot harvesting, it was a horrible result.
