Then that's pretty sad because its an awful place to live if you're not connected with the siloviki. Its better than history in all other countries too.

Meaning that more than 40% of Russians can barely afford food and clothing (link)? That's amazing, isn't it? It must be down from 30% from the pre-Putin era.

After all, Russias economy is dependent on oil prices since they haven't accomplished to diversify their economy from raw materials. I think Russia should allow the import of Finnish and Baltic (cheese mostly) products so it wouldn't have to be smuggled over the border anymore?!
