Gazprom and Neftogaz couldn't agree on a complete contract so Gazprom cuts off Marchs delivery of gas to Ukraine. Germany ratifies funding for Nordstream II.

Was wondering how Russia would spin the loss against Naftogaz in court. Thanks for coming through on here, saves me time watching their propaganda.

Looks to me like the Russians will be standing their ground. Gas isn't flowing yet and the Ukie Junta has taken to shutting down schools to enhance the martyr effects. As usual. Tossing you children on the fire. They couldn't cut gas elsewhere? Maybe the Rada and other government buildings?

Fine bunch they have running the country.

Well in reality Gazprom has not supplied gas to Ukraine since 2015. The plan was to start on March 1 but they didn't start supplies so Ukraine had to switch back to supplies from Poland. 2 days of problems, already fixed today. Russian gas not that important anymore, its just the cheapest. EU likes it because Russia cut the price of their gas by a lot to retain market share. So kids missed school on Friday, not the biggest deal in the world but reminded Ukrainians of the unreliability of Russian companies.

They still buy natural gas from Gazprom. It just comes though Poland's state-owned gas distributor. They sell gas sourced from various imported sources.

That is likely but that is not the same thing as buying directly from Gazprom. Physically it may be gas shipped by Gazprom but its bought from Poland... thus Russia cannot turn off Ukraine's gas so easily. It also means they can't charge much more than Poland pays, and that's very cheap. This isn't the same market as 5 years ago.

If the kleptocrats and insaniancs in kiev could manage themselves better than a 3 year old having a tantrum then we would have never had these problems. The rabid theives in Ukraine started this whole mess a long time ago when the gas slated to go to Europe disappeared.

Neftogaz proved in was unreliable in 2006. Russia built Nord Stream 1 and NS 2 is soon to begin. This may well be the death knell of Neftogaz and even worse maybe another knife in the back of American taxpayers.

The EU commission brought a case against Gazprom and Nordstream 2. They wanted to regulate it by requiring more than one owner. It was shot down in flames.

Another nail in Ukraines coffin. They stand to lose 2 billion a year in transit fees. It's what you get for not being a good neighbor.

Actually Nordstream2 wouldn't replace gas transiting Ukraine. But keep trying.
