I am russian from Donetsk and until events in Kiev I liked living in Ukraine. Now I want independence for us, I don't want Novorossia was a part of Russia and never wanted, but staying in Ukraine after such punitive actions at least would be disrespectful to our grandfathers and people who have died this year from shellings and protecting us.

Wladimir Putin made a big mistake when last spring he refused the annexation of the Lugank and Donetsk oblasts in the wake of the annexation of Crimea - wished by 90% of the Donbass population. The result : 5000 people dead and harsh sanctions against Russia anyway, a lose-lose situation .

In this case, the rest of Ukrainia should join NATO and Putin want to avoid to have a big direct borderline with NATO state.

Oh boy 'citizen' citoyen. In my opinion I think we got to watch that one. Puts Selena in a very precarious situation. I'm not so sure advocating NATO membership is a wise move right now. Kind of dangerous if we think of some of the consequences.

Not perfect, but much better, especially compared with the period from May to October. Shellings are almost finished, we have work, heating, food and personally I am feeling more safe now. I know that many people in this thread can't understand how is it, but most of all I was afraid that ukrainian "liberators" will come here.

yes, there should be a clear separation between Russia and the Donbass on one side, and Ukraine on the other. I believe it would desesclate the situation, it would be healthier?
