The overwhelming majority of people in all of Ukraine don't care about what goes on in Moscow, Kiev, Brussels or DC. It's the 1% that is making the waves be it good or ill. There was a majority of POLITCALLY ACTIVE Crimeans wanting to go back to Russia, they got what they wanted.

The uncaring/uninvolved get what is left to them. That's how it works all over the world.

How's the electricity situation in Ukraine now? I hear there is rolling black outs in places and hot water is not provided unless you have your own boiler.

But you do know that the referendum could only result in a 'yes' vote. The outcome was already
pre-ordained in a sense. A sham referendum really.

In any case this is a done deal. We'll be seeing how the Crimea fares in the next few years under Russian jurisdiction. Could be gold or mud for the people.

It is OK with electricity. At least in my city of Kharkov. Hot water is available everywhere unless there is a damage of some kind.

I am always "pleasantly surprised" when people living thousands miles away from the Crimea and Ukraine state their point of view as absolute truth. It was not the majority of POLITICALLY ACTIVE people but majority of RUSSIAN SOLDIERS.

Do you think the Crimean population supports accession to Russia?
