Hilarious.
So you really think that "invasion and annexation of the region" is all about "fair price for loans and preferential prices for gas?"

In this case you are simply in denial about over 100, 000 refugees that run to Russia, because such denial is convenient for your little cozy world full of potential profits and corporate deals.

Not my words, but those of your fellow countryman on this very thread.

Also, those 100.000 refugees came to Russia because Moscow's man Igor Girkin, a couple of drunk cossacks and Russian special forces thought it's a great idea to bring the conflict first to Crimea and subsequently to other eastern provinces.

Please quote them, that I'd know better what you are talking about.

Then logically speaking, if the *enemy* came from the East, the desperate crowds should have run to the West - to the "free Ukraine" - shouldn't they? Why would they seek refuge in the lands of the *enemy?*

Logically speaking, there wouldn't have been a reason to run at all.

Yes, according to your agenda of future corporate profits somewhere in European banks.

What western Ukraine has is tons of farmland that could be used by Monsanto.

What the US didn't consider - OPEC is a very well organized and efficient operation. They won't let the US interfere with that. They will control the oil prices until the US/EU fracking boom becomes unprofitable and collapses. Imo, parts of western Ukraine may still be on the table for the US but Eastern Ukraine is already gone.
About 30-40 percent of the cost of the natural gas to the end-user is charged by the pipleine owner.

Ukraine also has distribution network for coal and oil to Europe.

Between the military actions in Syria and Ukraine, it's obvious that the long-range plan is to route supplies to Europe from the Middle East and Central Asia in a way that isolates Russia and Iran. The long-term goal is regime change in those countries.

You know what? It really seems to me that Kiev could have chosen another path than the ATO, wouldn't you think? I remember that in the 1770s in the New World Great Britain wasn't willing to listen to the 13 colonies and where did it go? Americas war of independence.

Was there a possibility of Kiev and the powers in the Donbas sitting down and talking?

Yes there was. Like the King of England though Kiev sent men with weapons, not men with words. Kiev chose the path Ukraine is on and most likely did not do it independently.
