Yes, it's probably not true. But maybe he was giving time for Ukrainians to realize something.

And resisting this concept is a confrontation that will be dealt with by committing fratricide? You know, the longer the crisis is prolonged, the more the Ukranians will hate your guts. It's a shame really. You could have had something nice like what we Danes have with our northern neighbors.

While the EU is trying to capture fragments of the Soviet Union, Russia is trying to get closer to a future fragments of the European Union. Sergei Shoigu in Greece.

If your "Danish neighbors" would have been played against Danish national interests by external powers, your relations with them would have been very different as well, as "fraternal" as these nations could be to Denmark.

The situation is playing in Putin's hands.
Not because he is a "great man" or in any way a "positive" figure, but it's God's way of saying that this time around Russia is the righteous one, the West is in wrong. It's all bigger than Putin himself - he will be simply used as a tool.
