The head of SBU ( Ukrainian secret service) Nalivaichnko has been caught recording Poroshenko and passing the tapes with received information to American embassy.
In the light of which president Poroshenko issued two decrees;
1. Dismissal of Nalivaichenko as the head of SBU
2. Nalivaichenko is appointed as Ukrainian Ambassador to the US.
The situation is playing in Putin's hands.
Not because he is a "great man" or in any way a "positive" figure, but it's God's way of saying that this time around Russia is the righteous one, the West is in wrong. It's all bigger than Putin himself - he will be simply used as a tool.

I am gonna take the bait: Because he was a ruthless psychopath similar to Hitler and Mao?
It might be a case, but he was quite successful at expanding and reinforcing the might of Russian state.
It's not like history didn't know the ruthless rulers before him; what counts in this case, is whether they've managed to maintain the power of their states or not.
