So what do I see in those videos with my own eyes?
Of course they provide the humanitarian help after they take over the towns/villages.

And of course they laid siege to Mariupol - what do you think they suppose to do about the "Azov" ( and other Ukrainian military) holding civilians hostage there?

The people that got out of Mariupol alive ( with the help of the DNR militia) - they get the humanitarian help too, I can see it in the videos.

Ukraine’s future was not great before the war began. Young adults have been leaving for years, and the fertility rate is rock bottom. The same is true for Russia.

Extracts from email newsletters......

The head of the Russian National Guard — and a close Putin ally — said that the invasion of Ukraine was going slower than expected.

The comments are the strongest admission yet that the invasion has not gone according to plan.
Quote:
It’s telling that when Putin massed his military on Ukraine’s border under the guise of exercises this winter, he did not fool the United States but managed to bluff his own people, from the top of his entourage to the rank-and-file soldiers who suddenly found themselves in the line of fire.” —Lucian Kim, Fellow, and Moscow Bureau Chief of NPR
Not just Pootie's personal staff.....

In Russia, the FSB has reportedly detained the deputy chief of Russia’s National Guard, the Rosgvardia. The reasons behind his detention remain unclear:

A Russia United Party spokesman denied the detention, but the Kremlin later admitted that General Roman Gavrilov had been fired.

✈️ Something odd happened yesterday

At least eight Russian air force planes left Moscow within a short timeframe. The planes included mobile command centres, communications planes, and planes used to transport VIPs:

There was plenty of speculation that Kremlin elites were being evacuated.

At the same time, a number of private jets departed Moscow for Dubai, Turkey, and several other locations. Most of the planes reached their destination, waited several hours and then allegedly returned to Moscow.

Separately, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s plane was due to travel to China yesterday, but turned around halfway and returned to Moscow.

There are two plausible-ish theories about what might have happened:

Aviation analysts said this type of activity, while a little unusual, was not cause for alarm. The circuitous flight paths might be explained by the fact that most airspace is closed to Russian planes, and the cluster of flights within a short time frame could suggest the Russians were conducting a ‘routine exercise’.

Another explanation (mostly) consistent with the (limited) evidence was that a last minute meeting of Russia’s elite was called in Moscow. This might explain Sergei Lavrov’s plane turning around mid-flight (if he was even on the flight), and the private jet flights (the jets may have been dispatched to pick up oligarchs and bring them back to Moscow)

They're useful idiots. Reagan has to be spinning in his grave at the depths the GOP has fallen and how far removed they are from days of a "shining city upon a hill" and "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall."

The moderate GOP'ers that still believe in democracy, freedom, and fair elections need to split off and form their own party ASAP. There is so much rot in the current Republican Party that they need to just start over. They might actually get some independents who are not fully aligned with the Democratic Party.

The "they speak russian" is the dumbest argument one can make, by that logic England should claim America and Spain - Colombia. On top of that Ukrainian isn't mutually intelligible...anyway - I suspect she gets away since she is pretty, minority and a girl, finding a good explanation is hard.

Candace Owens used to be anti-Trump. At some point, she did a 180 and became pro-Trump and now it has become her brand. It's now all about maintaining views on YouTube and other platforms. There is no integrity involved, no need to educate herself on a topic -- just generate maximum controversy by saying unintelligible things and cha-ching, $$.

Candace Owens is just one of many hacks in the American political media who try to carve out a career as a pundit. Pretty much every single person you see on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and so forth falls into that category. It's a cottage industry and most of the people involved are not particularly bright or educated on the issues, but make up for it in being very loud.

That said, if she was shilling in the opposite direction you'd probably be lapping it up.

Well, compared to this(Of just less than one month only ephemeral short term hopefully only temporary not long term war disruptions explosions), Ukraine had such a brilliant, solid bright optimistic future. RIP Ukraine 1991-2013, including 1991-2019, 1991-2021. Three decades of exotic wonder. Also, are you referring to 2014 or 2022?

The Ukrainians must feel endlessly blessed with relatively zero complaints for what you used to have. That better be returning quickly.

Ukraine since 1991 to 2005 probably entered Moderate Middle income *in some to most measures* with a Ukrainian middle class that is there. At least Ukraine had such a comfortable affordable low cost of living. Not expensive compared to like Switzerland, Norway, Ireland, or even! France, Italy. What a breathe of fresh air for foreign tourists trying to travel on a bargain budget.

The future of Ukraine isn't looking to cheery now:

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy suspends parties with Russian links

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has ordered to suspend activities of 11 political parties with links to Russia. The largest of them is the Opposition Platform for Life, which has 44 out of 450 seats in the country's parliament.

. . . .Jump down to . . .

Speaking in a video address early Sunday, Zelenskyy said that "given a large-scale war unleashed by the Russian Federation and links between it and some political structures, the activities of a number of political parties is suspended for the period of the martial law."

Zelenskyy's announcement follows the introduction of the martial law that envisages a ban on parties associated with Russia.

So first, Ukraine outlaws the teaching/use of Russian language by ethnic Russians and now outlaws their political voice.

Also breaking news:

Ukraine: Zelenskiy bans three opposition TV stations

Ukraine's pro-Western president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, has signed decrees banning pro-Russian media outlets. The broadcasters had their licences revoked and are set to stay off the air for the next five years.

Three pro-Russian TV channels have gone off the air in Kyiv after pro-Western President Volodymyr Zelenskiy signed a Ukrainian security council decree imposing sanctions for five years on eight media and TV companies.
The Kyiv stations affected were ZIK, NewsOne, and 112 Ukraine.

Their broadcasts were only available Tuesday night via the video hosting platform YouTube, reported the Russian news agency TASS.

It identified the channels' owner as Taras Kozak, a lawmaker and member of the pro-Russian Opposition Platform for Life party, quoting him as describing Zelenskiy's move as "an act of blatant censorship."

Kozak is named in a decree appendix, with his assets, trading operations and transfer of copyright blocked — also for five years.

. . . Jump Down to . . .

In his main decree, implementing decisions reached Tuesday by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, Zelenskiy said Ukraine's Foreign Ministry would inform the European Union and the United States "about the application of sanctions" on the media outlets.

Satirist turned president

Russian influence remains strong in eastern Ukraine, where since April 2014 separatists and government forces have clashed, claiming 14,000 lives amid hostile relations between Kyiv and Moscow.

President Zelenskiy, formerly a comedian and actor, was elected in 2019 on a pledge to end the conflict. Both sides, under European mediation, agreed to a ceasefire last July.

Last November, Kyiv suggested that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) send 1,500 police to eastern Ukraine's Donbass region as a precursor to holding elections there.
