We've decided to do a lunch/dinner here for Easter. Our 3 grandaughters are coming over (9 months, 2 years and 8 years) and it's a long drive for them. Their mama has to work so my son is bringing them here for an Easter egg hunt and sandwiches etc. DH is cooking the ham now, we have several kinds of breads so we're making ham sandwiches with potatoe salad, chips and all the goodies that go with a big sandwich meal!
Have a Happy Easter everyone!
So far the discussion has led to ham, pole beans with red skin on potatoes, candied yams, and asparagus. All hinges on whether wife gets called out. She has already been called out for the morning.
We are having ham (YUCK), mashed potatoes, green bean casserole (YUCK), corn (YUCK), peas (YUCK), deviled eggs, and dinner rolls. This is not my favorite meal LOL. Its my MIL's house though, and this has been her traditional Easter dinner forever. I make the mashed potatoes and deviled eggs..she makes everything else. I'll have some ham, potatoes, deviled eggs, and a roll - but I'm holding out for the desserts which are always fantastic as she is an excellent baker! She usually makes me a banana creme pie and even a cheese cake! My two favorites! And she makes a strawberry pretzel salad too! Who needs dinner when you've got all those desserts?
Grilled Cheeseburgers, corn on the cob, sausages, potato salad and baked beans. Lot's of pies and desserts.
