Usually I just use a bit of salt. Never ketchup. If I'm somewhere that has a good honey mustard, I might use that for as dipping sauce, but never on top.
Also, there's a restaurant that we visit maybe once a year or so that serves bacon cheese fries. It's a giant pile of fresh cut fries, topped with tons of crumbled bacon and mounds of cheddar cheese and then all melted together under the broiler like nachos. Served as an appetizer. Delicious!
Anything else including ketchup takes away from the flavor of the potato.
What flavor from which potatoes? In 15 years visiting the States i NEVER had potatoes with a flavor.... The taste was always like water, everywhere. That`s maybe why you put parmesan cheese in and on everything sorry
I love fries with a pinch of salt, a splurge of pepper, and drowning a bit in ketchup, or I can have it with honey mustard, or ranch, or hellman's mayo. I'm trying to find vegan or vegetarian ways to dress up my fries now since I can no longer have meat in my chili and I'm trying to give up dairy. I know there is almond cheese out there, and I can always revamp my chili, so I'll see how that goes.
I used to eat my fries with Wendy's frosty or dutch chocolate ice cream mmmmm!! Also eat fries with bbq sauce, haven't eaten them with tartar sauce in a while but it's so good!
