They have a handy-dandy sesame grinder that's basically the same concept as pepper grinder. I haven't seen it here, though. I may ask my mom to send me one. I've never mixed ground sesame with tonkatsu sauce but it sounds so good, I'll try it tonight. I'll use a coffee grinder which I use for things other than coffee.(I have two separate ones, one for coffee, another for nuts, flex seeds, etc).
At the tonkatsu resturant we went to they had little ceramic pots, individual sized, that had a scored abrasive interior and a wooden pstle....the seseme seeds ground up in this little bowl and it was a nice touch...a little "business" while waiting for the dinner to arrive.
We're going to be right near our favorite deli this evening, so I'm looking forward to sharing a hot pastrami on rye and a round potato knish, with some cole slaw and half sour pickles.
I just had to see what is going on. Well I see so I'm going back to bed. I played way to late last night and must try and get some beauty sleep. Not sure what dinner will be. I'll thaw something I want out after lunch. It's must be simple for a simple mind and must go well with a sweet potato.
Have a piece of pork loin roast in the crock pot, covered with salsa.
Going to have DH turn it on low at noon, should be ready to be shredded for pork tacos when I get home. I hope I don't regret the salsa. So far I haven't made anything in the crock pot that I really liked except for this Boston Baked Bean recipe with a zillion ingredients. Oh, and brisket with bbq sauce is not bad.
Not really - meat grinding/mincing is less violent than the whizzing chopping blades of a food processor. Mincing is forcing the meat, pushing it thu a load of tiny holes rather than pulverising it completely! Unless the newer processors have some fancy attachments...???
You can buy meat mincers very cheap, they bolt onto your counter-top and you push the meat thru whilst turning the handle. Bit messy to disassemble and clean tho.
If you have a good butcher they will mince any kind of meat you want minced, to whatever fine-ness you like. They will probably advise you to have some fat in it tho - for flavor, fry-ability and for texture, but that is up to you
Just to weigh in..If you have a Kitchenaid mixer, you can buy an attachment to grind meat and other things.
