Just saw the news coverage about vamping up public transportation here in Greensboro.. honestly think money could Be better spent else where on another project.. let's face it. All of NC is car dependent.. and look at the demographic of people who take the bus system.. your not gonna see middle or upper class people on the bus or standing at bus stops to wait for a bus... your not gonna see a bus stop out front of Cheesecake Factory at Friendly Center. . This just seems like another way of Greensboro saying they want to focus on low economy residents and not provide anything useful to middle or upper class residents .
Agreed. The middle-class pays the freight and I've got no problem whatsoever with us being the first consideration.

But there is a bus stop in front of The Cheesecake Factory.

Is there!!! I've never noticed it , is it the exact same type that's around the rest of the city. Or does it have a different esthetic too it to fit into the Friendly Center? Like is it a actually lil shed to sit in while you wait for the bus? Or just a bus stop where u stand and wait to get on?I just don't want a ton of those sheds pooping up that end up trashed and broken , that's around the rest of the city
Not quite downtown, but just outside of it:
Does anyone know what brand of gas station/convenience store they're building at the corner of Florida St and Freeman Mill?

Its actually not right in front of CF, but just up Pembroke. No shelter, just a sign. There are multiple such stops within Friendly Center.

They will be open during the workday generally (7-6) with additional hours to accommodate Hoppers games and Tanger Center events. Looks like pretty basic counter service with soups, sandwiches, salads, wraps, etc but will have a liquor license. They may expand to dinner later but for now it appears to be more of a lunch and take home meal spot for those working downtown.
Seriously? Signs versus shelters? Certainty don't want to mess with Friendly Center esthetics.
No we absolutely don't! We want at least one part of the city that doesn't look it's like run down and a homeless magnet .. alot of bus shelters I've seen are broken, homeless sleeping in them, and clothing thrown out and about them... so yes.. let's not mess with Friendly Centers Vibe!!!
