I don't think this will happen, but if the Big Ten can add Notre Dame and Clemson, along with USC and UCLA, that would be crazy.
Eventually there's going be just two premier college football super leagues, the ESPN League (SEC) and the Fox League (Big Ten), probably 20 teams each.
The Big 10 is only going to add AAU schools.. In the ACC they are UNC, Duke, UVA, GaTech, and Pitt. They would surely go non AAU if Notre Dame wanted to join. The only non AAU school in the Big 10 is Nebraska.. and they were in the AAU when they accepted the Big 10's invitation.

Oh, I know all about the Big Ten and their preference for AAU schools, sure they can keep to that, or they can say, 'whatever', since as you pointed out, Nebraska already lost it's AAU status.
It will be very interesting to see where everybody ends up playing when the dust settles!
Disappointed and a little surprised by the republicans here. Is there anybody who DOESN'T think Charlotte was the destination all along? Orlando was just the ploy to stick the state up for 15 mill. This was a nasty move all the way around.
Me, too. ACC has bamboozled the entire state, smh. The conference might literally be a shell of itself in five years with its major money making (football) teams poached, but here's 15 million. smh.
Sure, but had the ACC HQ moved to Orlando, some on here would be saying- why didn’t the state of NC do more to keep it in NC. The $15M from the state is only to keep the HQ in NC. It has nothing to do with the HQ moving to Charlotte. That is on the ACC.
The fat lady has not sand yet. A lot is yet to happen. Experts say that if the ACC could convince ND to become a full member then the ACC could survive as a third super conference. Everyone agrees that there are about 60 good football schools. There is a need for a third super conference. If the ACC could get a full commitment from ND, it could be the conference to recruit the remaining good football programs such as Nebraska, Oregon, Washington. But if the ACC cannot get a full commitment from ND then it may be raided for sure.
If ND does have to join a conference, what conference will it be? I have a friend that is a big ND supporter. He goes to many games. He says that the Big10 turned ND down in the early 1900s and would not allow them to join the conference. He says that they still remember this.

ND would join the Big 10 before the ACC and in fact they have little reason to ever join the ACC. Not to mention they hold their media rights near and dear. Giving that up, even for a disproportionate share of the ACC's miniscule revenue would be a non-starter for them.
The ACC is doomed IMO. Clemson and FSU aren't sticking in what would amount to AAA college football. It's only a matter from there of how big the SEC and Big 10 get. I can't imagine they'll leave a blind spot coverage-wise in NC/VA for long.
If the ACC is not careful its going to make the same mistake the Big East made and the Big East is a shell of what it once was. If the ACC wants to forget its roots and a community that supported it through its entire history, then I hope it goes down in flames.
The ACC is as good as dead. There are no options available that can make it competitive with the Big10 and SEC. The top ACC programs are not going to stay in a conference that pays tens of millions less per year when they can go to the top 2 and make that money. UNC, Clemson, FSU, and probably Miami and UVA all will have options better than the ACC.

This is going to destroy college sports, especially CFB. I am a big fan but my interest has slowly waned over the past decade. The self righteous bastards took too long to create a legitimate multi team playoff and now the “big” boyz are going to cherry-pick teams to satisfy greed. It’ll be funny when the big ten and sec start raiding each each other slowly kicking out low performers…basically the NFL. Little to no regional and natural rivals, with escalating ticket prices. I predict in 30 years, teams will get pissed off in these mega conferences and break off and create smaller regional conferences….and say for instance, call one composed of South Atlantic and mid Atlantic schools the ACC… oh wait, this is how the ACC came to be..going full circle again.
No matter how much money, the travel cost, etc will ultimately rule the day for Non—football sports…it’s not sustainable. The only other option is to allow CFB take on an NFL model and totally break away from the NCAA. Still, they are going to loose a lot of eyeballs and interest….greedy jackasses.

I wouldn’t call roughly $34-40 million dollars a year miniscule, which I think the leftovers after the big get (if not more) will make in a reduced ACC…still has a lot of good programs, plus parity is coming to CFB. It’s just the upcoming inflated deals by the sec and b1g are outrageous. At some point, the shat is going to hit the fan or basically call it what it is, NFL Lite.
