I am a libertarian and have used marijuana on and off for the past 9 years. I was not addicted because the moment I found out I was pregnant and while I was breastfeeding, I never touched it. I earned my masters degree while writing every paper and high. I enjoy cleaning and writing music while high. I don't smoke it because of the harmful effects, rather I cook with it or use a volcano vape. I am a successful, educated "pot head" and I hate the stereotypes against marijuana.
Marijuana can be harmful if the wrong people use it. Put it in the wrong hands and it will ruin lives, but I would argue that those people wouldn't have lived productive or successful lives had they not used marijuana.
I am for the legalization of marijuana for recreational use by adults. Good thing I live in Washington!
Well said. To use in moderation as we do with alcohol.
It isn't harmless and anyone who has some need to mess up their minds with mind-altering drugs needs to wonder what is going on in their lives that they feel that need.
I heard a doctor (neurologist) the other day saying that pot smoking has been shown in studies to be a cause of stroke. I didn't know that. He was referring to regular marijuana, but he also said there was a case of two brothers who smoked synthetic marijuana and had strokes within 20 minutes of each other.
I don't doubt it, especially since I heard a neurologist say it. It's just not something I had thought about or heard doctors refer to before. And I've been in a teaching hospital setting for over 30 years. This is just something I hadn't heard mentioned. Yes, I know tobacco of any kind, increases risk of stroke. I just had never heard a doctor pinpoint pot specifically.
