And people think they need stainless for resale. This poll is certainly proving that theory wrong.

I chose black and that's what I have. I still remember people seeming SHOCKED when I told them of my plan for a black refrigerator (about 12 years ago...not as popular then as now). I recently talked my mom into black appliances when her old stuff gave out but she is still pinning away for her old white appliances. She said they made everything brighter and more cheerful. I suppose it all depends on what you have been conditioned to like.

Um.....I think its taste, not conditioning.
Conditioning makes it sound like we are Pavlovs dogs!

I prefer white. I do not like the textured white however. Hate the look of stainless. It would make me feel like I was cooking in a mental institution or prison or something. Weird.

I think stainless steel is to the 2000's what avacado was to the '70's. I like it but I prefer black or better yet turquoise or pink.

I love red appliances too. I don't own any large red appliances either, but I did get all the little apps in red, and a red teapot.

Silly people. Do stainless steel refrigerators work better than white ones?

Black just looks really good with almost any other color and any type of cabinet.
I agree that black does look good with almost any other color or type of cabinet; however, I am surprised that you find stainless hard to keep clean. One of the reasons I love my stainless-front fridge (sides are black) is because all I have to do is wipe it down with a damp micro-fiber cloth and it looks great.

What I find very interesting is when I worked as a realtor's assistant back in 2007-2008, the majority of buyers wanted stainless appliances. No, make that "Top of the Line" stainless like Wolf. It used to amaze me, but I suppose it' was just another fad that is shifting again. Next, we'll probably have "natural-looking appliances" that compliment the environment, like bamboo-covered, grass-covered or how about dirt-covered appliances!! LOL!
