I know that there have been different trends on kitchen appliance colors, however, if you have a preference, what would you prefer?

I personally like stainless steel.

I voted for black, but coppertone and turquoise give me a real thrill

Unless you are planning on staying in your house forever, stainless or stainless-look is the most sensible option as it has the highest resale value. Whether it's real or faux, SS has perceived value to buyers. I put lots of things in my house that are not my first choice. But since I know I will be moving in a few years, I go with the best ROI.

I prefer white and the old kind that is new again, smooth! Not the white textured stuff, they are making smooth white again.

I had stainless and I it was so hard to keep clean. Maybe because it wasn't a subzero or wolf or viking....the GE stainless I had was impossible to keep clean. Fingerprints and water spots...argggg

Of the actual choices you gave, I prefer white, and that's what I have, but I chose "other" because what I really prefer is for the appliances to match the cabinets and blend in. I really like the built in look and I think that might be the next big thing. If they don't blend in almost invisibly, then my second choice would be a real color. Like Ohiogirl81 mentioned turquoise and I would love that, but also red or any of a number of other colors. I think they should either be invisible or make a bold statement.

I prefer black!! I know stainless is supposed to be more appealing, but it isn't my favorite. It is my second choice, though.

White appliances make me feel poor, since many years ago they were cheaper than other colors and all I could afford.

It doesn't look like there is a clear winner since a few stainless people only based their stainless vote on resale, not their personal preference.

I think well done "fully cased" appliances that disappear into the surrounding cabinetry is both the smartest long term value and the most visually tactilely attractive. The only exception might be for the range / cook top, as even when the "custom color matched" finish is selected the odds of damage over time are almost a certainty... Stainless steel is the standard in commercial kitchens becuase it holds up to the heat / abuse.

yeah, me too. I got the stainless based on resale value too. I like it, but it's a pain to clean it everyday. If I couldn't have afforded stainless I would have gone with white appliances.
