Put casinos in Galveston and get Earthquest Adventures built up in NE Houston. I don't care for casinos myself, but Galveston would be a great place for them. If I had to choose between the two; I'd go with Amusment park.

The bible thumpers would not stand for Houston getting Casinos for no other reason other than lame blanket statements & talking points. A Casino District in Houston would cripple Louisiana as all our gambling dollars would stay here in Texas.

I never understood why people would be against Casinos in their city.

even a single project like City Center in Las Vegas would breathe life into midtown:

False. For the most part Texans support casinos and gambling, its the politicians who don't want it. I think there is some under the table pay offs happening between TX and LA government.

Galveston was mentioned as a possible area for Casinos along with Houston, DFW, SA, Corpus, El Paso and the Valley.

But Galveston would be small time. More of a hotel thing with gambling than a real entertainment district.

I am talking about ten or so casinos, plus other forms of entertainment, all contained in a district.

Can you imagine if we had something like
MGM Grand plus NY NY, Paris, The Wynn, The Pallazzo, The Venetian, Bellaio

Just 5 Casinos similar to these would be huge. Instead of NY NY we could have a Texas theme. Instead of Paris we can have a Mexican theme with Aztec and Maya Pyramids.

We can have a Space Themed Casino,

The more creative the better, even though simple buildings like the Pallazzo are awesome too.

Here is my top themes for Casino/ Hotels here:

1. Space City Hotel and Casino:
A Spaced Theme structure with Space Ships, Stars, Planets, Comets, etc

2. The Spirit of Texas Hotel and Casino
Texas Icons such as The Alamo, Big Tex, Houston's BOA, Sam Houston monument, San Jacinto Monument etc

3. Kukulcán Hotel and Casino
Similar to the Luxor in Vegas, but this would be a Mayan Temple themed Casino

4. Bayou City
Similar to Flamingo, but a gator filled swamp theme

5. My fifth choice would be a plain but giant and fancy building like the Pallazzo, Venetian, or Bellagio and have it related to energy/oil

If we ever got a casino I say put it in The Pavilions. Anything to breathe some life into that place.
