That would be nice. The only hand santizers the CDC recommends contain 60%-70% alcohol. The others(the most popular ones) don't use alcohol and aren't shown to be effective against virii. In fact, the CDC has recently ordered those companies to stop advertising that they are effective.

Sure, with no water, hand sanitizer is better than nothing. Soap and water is pretty damn effective, though.

People wearing goggles are just loons. Nobody is running around spitting in your eyes anymore than they ever were.

All you have to do is look at the label of sanitizer to see what's in it. My clinic has sanitizer all over the place. If it wasn't helpful believe me it would be gone to save money. You don't think protective eyewear is useful around cough/sneeze? Of course it is.

Okay, what?

Eyes are a highly susceptible orifice for transmission of many things, including Covid-19.

I'm not sure what clinics use these days but when my mom was a practicing RN they used stuff like Hibiclens, not Purell off the shelf at the store. A lot of the publicly available sanitizers don't contain alcohol and don't really work against virii. Also, even if your doc has a wall pump full of "Purell" its probably not the same formula you're buying at the grocery store.

Most goggles except swimming goggles are not air-tight. When was the last time you had someone cough or sneeze directly on your eyes in a public place?

Someone doesn't science much.

I am at a loss for your ignorance. People sneeze a fair amount in public without covering up and cough ALL THE TIME in public without covering their mouths, especially kids.

So, with that being said, the aerosol from a cough/sneeze can last in the air for up to 45 minutes.

And if you're not sure, you can use that computer you're using right now to learn things too.

Chlorhexidine hand soap for hand washing. The Sanitizer is most definitely is Purell brand. You know how far a cough/sneeze goes? Went I went to the store today I heard no coughing or sneezes and it was mostly quiet. Your cough or sneeze near me and dont cover it I will say something.

Right, so tell me again how those non-airtight goggles will save you?

Purell doesn't contain 60%+ alcohol and is not recommended by the CDC. The FDA has instructed GOJO stop claiming its products prevent viral infections.

If your doctor is using Purell, I'd suggest finding another doctor.

The Purell Bottle I'm looking at right now is 65% Ethyl Alcohol.
