That is not what your quote means. It means that both vaccinated people and people who have had covid-19 may be more susceptible to XBB.1.5 than previous variants.
A link to your source would be helpful.
So, the vaccine is useless against the current variant in NYC, that's how I understand it. (It's not a quote, I put it in my own words).
BTW: I ran across other articles which stated the current variant bypasses immunity, it's not just this one.
I know what you mean, the articles indicate the vaccine isn't causing the new variant to make people more likely to get covid (questionable), the variant is bypassing the protection of the vaccine and natural immunity of people who had covid.

Like I said, from your link:
"It may be more likely to infect people who have been vaccinated or previously had COVID-19 compared to prior variants."
I guess you didn't read this part of my previous post. What good will the vaccine do when the vaccinated are more likely to get the current strain of covid?
The current dominant variant of COVID-19 in NYC is omicron XBB.1.5. This variant is the most transmissible, and it may be more likely to infect people who have been vaccinated or previously had COVID-19. It's not know yet whether XBB.1.5 may cause more severe disease.
I would even feel worse if I WAS vaccinated going to Jury Duty, it's even more risky! The point is at my age I'm at higher risk for covid, but the state wants me to take that risk instead of giving younger people a jury summons who are less likely to get it (but I feel nobody should be forced to do Jury Duty under these circumstances). I would be more than willing to do a virtual case on my home computer.
you cant have juries sit remotely..... no way to guarantee the process.

The problem with that is, what if one of the jurors (or anyone at the Court, for that matter) has Covid? Unless they are testing everyone at the court, I see a potential for a disaster here. Can't believe they are forcing people back to jury duty now. That's terrible!

And masks are not required making jury duty even more risky. I had good news today, one of my medical providers is filling out the Excused from Jury Duty form for me, I'm so happy, I wasn't sure he would do it.
Today a businesswoman I am friendly with told me her mom just tested positive for covid and needed to be hospitalized, she's in her 60's, don't know if she has underlying conditions.

So people's right to due process and speedy trials go away?
