Good year for #1 singles and a great year for Top 40 singles, my choices for best #1 songs of 1978 are
Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive" & "Too Much Heaven"
Nick Gilder's "Hot Child In The City"
Exile's "Kiss You All Over"
Andy Gibb's "Shadow Dancing"
Player's "Baby Come Back"
I wish Foreigner's "Double Vision" went #1 instead of Donna Summer's "McArthur Park"
There are so many good songs there, so it's hard to pick (even though I know you said you could vote for more than one).
I picked "You Needed Me" by Anne Murray simply because it was so soothing and distinctively 1978. It would be hard to imagine that genre of music becoming a top hit now or anytime in the 2-3 decades.

Yeah all of them are multiple choice except the 80's polls because I did think about making it multiple choice, which I regret and was stupid of me. But yes vote for as many as you like.
