I am a Municipal employee and I haven't any called yet which is weird. I wasn't rejected or placed on a waiting list so I am trying to figure out how long will it be before I get a call. You always have to be prepared.
Same here. I was told they have no rejection letter/wait list letter on file for me so hopefully they will start getting to us municipals after the CB preferences.
I have disability priority as well. Interviewed Oct. 13th, paperwork in order. Nothing yet. Just keep putting money aside and waiting. I can't wait to meet with HPD through the mayor's office for people with disabilities. HPD wants to know the flaws and suggestions to make it better. I'm making my notes.
I don't qualify for this lottery, but for those of you who are just waiting, do you put your lives on hold or what? What if you are offered a raise or a promotion or a bonus or something? Would you actually turn it down? lol

I actually postponed my annual review because of this. But I am not doing it anymore. I also keep post-poning a meeting with my sub leaser because I don't want to tell them that I will be here through the year if I may be moving soon. They know about the lottery though and likewise they want to know if they should consider looking for someone else to live with them. It puts me between a rock and a hard place. Even health wise... I am depressed and anxious...
They need a better way of informing people what phase of the process they're in. This affects your living situation and your finances... and that's basically everything.
To those of you who have applied to this lottery and were rejected or still waiting for any kind of status, the building across from this building, 23 stories, has over 300 affordable apartments and the lottery starts this Friday on Housing Connect. I am excited because they include all five income bands and seem to have a decent spread among all of them. I qualify for more apartments in this one coming up than I did for Dean, so it gives me hope!! Same architects and stuff so basically the same apartments, but since it's all affordable, all the amenities are included and we wouldn't have to pay extra like we would at Dean (although I still want to live in dean so badly, I have an architectural hardon for that building for some reason, and yes I realize it's hideous!).
Denise brings up a good point.. How long can you be in these lotteries, or the waitlist if your living situation changes? I don't see a raise coming any time soon to be honest, but some people will get them. Also they make you hand in all the same paperwork every 120 days, so if you are on the waiting list for a year you're going to be going through this process three times a year!? What if you HAVE to move!? My lease here is up in August, and if I can't snag an affordable lottery apartment I am going to have to move elsewhere, possibly to NJ, but definitely perhaps to another borough. or should I just rent a room in the same CB!!?
Back in November I was was to believe so fully that I definitely had the apartment that I went out and took out a loan to make SURE I would be able to cover the security deposit, first months rent (because I still have to pay rent here and give at least 30 days to my roommate and also moving costs... tho what happens to people on an actual lease!? breaking a lease can get you sued then you are up ****s creek because if you have any sort of lawsuit via a housing issue you are automatically denied any upcoming lotteries. I wish I waited to take out that private loan until I actually had something concrete. I feel stupid now and now in any upcoming lotteries I will have to explain why I took out this loan (it wasn't much, just 2,600 dollars... but that IS a lot for many of us).
I will say this.. never turn down a raise at work if you do get one. But I am sure it depends on everyone's situation. I don't really have much to add on this topic anymore, but be careful what you say here, cuz half the **** we are saying on here are now winding up on that pacific park watchdog blog that is written by just one person and I am chary of his agenda. I tried posting a few times on there, but my comments have never been approved.
There are 16 apartments rented. You can look it up on streeteasy.com put in the address and it tells you exactly when each specific apartment rented and exactly how much money in rent they are paying. Perhaps all the lights are off because everyone is at work to pay the insane market rate rents (which actually aren't even that bad considering since there is a huge glut of new apartments on the market in that area)... market rate tenants all got a month free, no brokers fee, etc.
it lists all the active listings, and every single unit that has been rented since they started renting.
