Here’s an article about the recent mugging. The suspects are shown on video entering a Stuy Town building. It isn’t known (and management isn’t saying) whether they live here or got in some other way. Residents are mad that Blackstone is not alerting us when incidents happen. Plus, the main job of the security force seems to be watching screens in the public safety office rather than walking the paths and checking that doors are locked, etc. I think in general, electronic surveillance has taken the place of actual boots on the ground.

It may sound as though I am blaming the victim, but I am questioning his judgment in jogging by himself in a remote location at 11:30 p.m. People my age remember growing up in the 1970s and always looking over our shoulder for muggers. Young people have grown up in a safer city and may take it for granted that they won’t come to harm. I’m always telling my daughter to keep her wits about her and not lose herself in her phone.

The truth is, we are responsible for our own security and have to be cautious. Unless you live in a doorman building, you never know who may be following you in. You have to develop strategies not to let people in unless you know them personally. Residents here seem very casual about this and yes, it’s hard to tell someone you won’t let them in and to please use the intercom. But it’s necessary for our safety as it seems crime is on the rise. I hope it’s a temporary development!

can you please share how you are getting the information, "informed that final review was conducted" and
"from the beginning of the process that inventory should clear up for 2 bedroom in July" ? Did you speak with them, if so did they call you? or was it by email?

this whole process seems to have mysteries and certain inconsistencies, like others waiting extended times after submitting docs and getting offered apartments. This seems especially true in 1 bdr land but maybe in 2 bdr land as well.

How many others are waiting for 2 bdrs and how long since you submitted docs?
I spoke to my specialist over the phone and on email multiple times. They called me and I called the number also. I did ask a lot of questions each times to obtain clarity before I found this forum as I found the process mysterious.

3/30 - received email to submit documents
3/31 - submitted all documents
4/28 - received email from Ms. Pryce - "Thank you for your continued interest in the Stuytown lottery. Please know if you’re still interested in a one bedroom or two Bedroom. We are having issues with inventory renovations (currently availability) so you may have go on hold for a one or two bedroom. If you already submit you may need to updated documentation."
6/23 - received email from Ms. Pryce I was disqualified but I talked to her over the phone and she told me it was a mistake because I did not make it clear if I want a 1bed or 2 bed. She told me to choose a 2 bed because I have a son and I told her I was concern about not be able to afford 2k a month and she told to not worry about it and choose what I need.
6/23 - received a new email to submit updated paychecks and 2021 tax.

I wish they are a little bit more transparent about prices and income brackets. I asked Ms. Pryce about dates and she said it can be anytime in 2, 3 or 4 months.

This forum is my lifesaver so I don't spend the next few months trying not to have a panic attack.

That is very scary. It looks like they walked into a closed door. Are the doors in Stuytown unlocked?

No, the doors are locked and we use key cards to get in.

That is what we don’t know. It’s possible one or more of them are residents. Or maybe they used the victim’s key card. But management should be giving us this sort of information, and it’s not forthcoming.

For those of you moving in, get the minimum amount of information on your key card. Mine doesn’t even have my name on it.

Default Received a letter!

Hello All!

Received an email yesterday for "reprocessing application". Original application 4/27/21, various email exchanges with hold, and now ready for reprocessing. Also one bedroom. Log number in 1600's

A few questions...are they wanting gross or net income? Also, anyone know if these apartments are all renovated?

Very excited as well!

Rose
