"In 10 incidents dating from October 28 – December 8, 2016, the suspects entered pharmacies and stuffed over-the-counter medications and cosmetics into plastic bags before fleeing."
So exactly how long has this been going on? Let me guess - ever since Giuliani left office? Lol. Bring back stop and frisk for bar soaps!
Everyone's entitled to their own perception at the end of the day
Read the thread. It's been going on a long time but increased dramatically in the past few years. It's weird, you're being so belligerent about the details of this. Are your friends the robbers?
Whatever, don't have any more time to google stuff for you, do it yourself

Dramatically to what extent? That's my point, the media has mastered the act of fearmongering.
If this was causing people problems with not buying things then I can be sympathetic, but not one person has expressed how this is affecting their daily life in terms of shopping for necessities.
Is anybody having problems finding items they need to buy because of the increased shoplifting? If so, how have you changed your shopping habits?

Guy is in denial about crime and a bunch of other things.
Back to that? If we dare leave our houses ever then clearly crime is not a problem?
Back when the A train was truly dangerous my pops sucked it up and took the LIRR to the city until the trains got safer again
I don't think I've seen one person on here say how this crime has affected their routine
I believe only Eleanor says she no longer takes the subway and she's not even a full-time resident here
Thats disturbing that I haven't seen anybody comment on that aspect
Last time I went to dinner in the city the streets were so packed in the Village/Meatpacking District that people were walking in the street the sidewalks were so crowded, 11 PM
I guess all those people did not get the message about crime?
So...if the shoplifting is so bad like all of you say, how has it affected your shopping?

None of what you just wrote matters. You're just creating excuses for ignoring the problem.
If my faucet is leaking and I can't fix it myself, it's still a problem whether I continue to use the faucet or not. your reasoning is, "well you're still using it, so I guess it's not a problem".

OMG just read the thread. Post 41.
increase of 86% since 2016 in investigation of criminal networks stealing from major retailers including Target, Home Depot, etc.
Oh I'm sure you'll have some reply like that's just investigations, or they didn't specifically mention Duane Reade. Whatever, say your stupid stuff that's not backed up in numbers or investigations or anything but your own mental un-reality. its getting tiresome
where is the head banging against the wall icon.
